    Hey guys,

It's been a while since I've owned a Holden so I haven't been on these forums. Loving heaps of the cars on here.
Anyway, I just picked up my new 2008 VE SV6 in Ignition Orange (pics will come when the sun is out) and well basically... It's standard.

So, I wanna do some things to it and I can't decide exactly what.

I've looked around on eBay and found that some people sell and reprogram SSV head units to suit SV6's, I would love to put this in my car as I love the LCD panel etc. It's about $1200 on eBay, would I be better taking it to Holden and get new items and get them to do it all at a slightly higher cost?
As for the bonnet, I'm thinking between the black track stripes, or. I saw this SSV once that had a "HDT Bonnet Scoop". Looked pretty good, anyone have experience with these? Is this a whole bonnet replacement and how much do they normally cost? Would this be recommended or will it cause issues?

    Hey Mate,

    Congrats!

In regards to the head unit, if you find a second hand one on ebay cheap enough it can be sent of to somewhere like NoLimit Electronics to be reprogrammed. Only costs a couple of hundred dollars and i have seen SS head units go for around $400 -$600 on ebay all the time.

    Hope this helps alittle.

Gratz on the purchase. Awesome colour choice (Yes I'm biased) I'm with Tinny re the stripes, haven't done anything to mine but I'd go with the anniversary stripes rather than the track stripes. The track stripes work on some colours, but I'm not a fan of them on Ignition.

    Thanks :)
Yeah the stripes was what I was thinking of. Didn't think of those anniversary stripes though, they look hot!
Also, I'd like to get some kind of exhaust work done, however.... I'm car dumb basically. I know the basics to get me going so I don't get ripped off... But not enough to make informed decisions.
What kind of exhaust goes well on these to give it a lower gruntier sound. Like a V8, but obviously it won't be the same :)
And any idea on a rough cost of the work?

Last time I did anything exhaust wise was my old VT exec. But it already had pacemakers, I just had to pay like $250 for an exhaust and to be honest, I don't know what it was. But it sounded great :)

Don't suppose anyone has photos of Ignition cars with both the stripe types?

Oh, and there is the SSV headunits on eBay. The $1200 one I mentioned included programming as well.
