Never heard anyone using that term for the interior

And agree...nothing wrong with saying black on black without black wheels. As 180sc said, been termed that way for longer than some members have been walking the planet for. I actually find it kind of humerous when the kids refer to black on black because they have black wheels but then have a red interior.
