well i just got it back
$550 later
luckily the guy doin the repairs found a second hand fuel rail and set of injectors

injectors * at cheapest * were $330 a set and $200 for the fuel rail :(

it looks like because the fuel filter hasnt been replaced enoguh theres been too much **** geting into the engine and its ****ed most of the fuel system
there is like black dirt n grit coming out of the old injectors as well

we have replaced the fuel filter as well
and hopeing that its the fuel filter like decomposing
because if it isnt its **** in the fuel tank and the tank will need to be replaced

i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem
ive found some tanks on ebay but uinfortunatly they are in far away places :(

tanks are plastic... is this **** plastic?... i dont understand you needing a new fuel rail.... why not just clean the one that you got?.... did the fuel filter have this black **** in it too?... i have heard of ethernol fuel eating the fuel pump wiring in 6 months and then the pump burns out... How long have you owned this car for ?..

we have had the car from new actually
most the **** thats gone wrong with it we have fixed it and theres been no problems with it
the **** dosent look plastic but its hard to tell
i dont think that the fuel fiter had been replaced at all
one thing ive noticed is when thers not much fuel
like 1 /4 left
if you go round a roundabout it coughs as if its not getting fuel
n after i had al ook at a tank the pick up is on the right side of the car
which makes sense becuase goun around the roundabout the fuel would go to the left side of the tank
its gonna be a big job to replace the fuel pump n pick up thoguh

are you aware that injectors have a gauze strainer in the end of them?
have a look at this, also, there are a few auto shops that do a 'sonic clean' of your injectors, they can do it while theyre in the car, which means your rail would get a clean too.
good luck with it

the whole end of it and the rail was like just covered in black sooty grit
like he put the injector down and it just fell out of it :S

does anyone know if the injector cleaner fluids actually work?

no amount of injector cleaning fluid will clean this stuff out. you will need to remove the tank & flush the entire fuel system out otherwise it will only happen again.
this is a relatively common thing, not entirely sure why though.
the contamination looks kinda like tea leaves but is gritty like rust .

hm ok well the guy said it would be a pretty big job to take the tank out n shove it back in

all the tank seems to be is the fuel pump unit thats a single unit that is on the right side of the plastic tank n thats about it.

is it possible that the fuel pump unit is full of ****? becuase i can get one for like $60

the guy who fixed it said the only time he has seen this happen was when water got into the fuel tank

n yeah i seriosuly doubt that the injector fluid would break the **** in the tank down enoguh

ive chcekd around the fuel cap and no matter how mcuh like water thats around it it simply is not gonna get in through the fuel cap. even with a dodgy fitting fuel door.

big job for a fuel tank removal? It takes hardly any time at all, even you could do it bud.

the fuel tank takes about 10 minutes to get out.
about 10 to clean & replace the pump/mra assy.
10 to refit.
the mra will have this crap in it & will need at the very least cleaning.
