VE OMEGA 3.6L Dual Fuel
Just replace the factory chains at 260.245klms.
Always use full synthetic oil and change it every 6K.

that's a good run, I'm at 200k now still original chains 12/09 berlina dual fuel.

Castrol edge 5w30 every 7500km and filter change.

These arnt the only newer engine with this issue lots of later model stuff that run 5w oil are having sludge issues.the oils so thin it gets up in the ring pack and burns and evaporates and condensed to tar on the inside of your engine

Bugger. Poor servicing coupled with it's known PCV issues would certainly be a contributing factor.

After you clean it as good as you can I'd suggest running some cheap oil, get it damn hot and dump it straight away or you run the risk of all the crap that is washed down blocking the pickup and killing your bearings more than they already are. May have to do a couple of flush and dumps and probably drop the sump and clean the pickup again for good measure.

looking a lot better. Are you able to get the cams and heads any better or is that as good as it is gonna get?

I will probably get them a little better than that, but I'm spending what little time I have concentrating on the timing chain components. Once I'm happy with them I'll revisit the heads.
