Well, I got some pics of the chassis connectors last night, they're pretty **** because it was dark in the shed, but pics none the less. I also grabbed a pic of the cell and pump set up going in it too. I went a bit crazy with the pump, it's good for 750hp, but I figured if I buy it now I shouldn't have to do it again.

I'll get some better pics on the weekend which there is some more light in the shed, but they should keep Ari amused for the time being.

nice did you end up getting someone to make the fuel cell or was that a pre fab thing?

It's a pre fab deal, made by RCI. I had it modified to suit though. I had the neck welded on so I could mate it to the original filler behind the number plate as I can't fill it inside the car because it will be below a false floor in the hatch. I also had the strips welded on the bottom to mount the tank and a -12 fitting welded on the rear at the bottom for the feed. It has a pickup fitting, but it's on the top which I didn't like and it's only -8 anyway. This way where the pump is mounted, it will gravity feed which is ideal.

I just need to put a plate over where the RCI filler was and it's all done.

Yeh, we'll I've gone all out on everything like the ignition system, fuel system etc. so there is some head room if I decide to up the ante with a bigger motor or a sniff of gas later down the track if the need arises. It's broken the bank a bit, but do it once, do it right I guess.

I sent my extractors off to be ceramic coated today. Now that they've been heavily modified, they actually fit a Chev powered Torana like they were supposed to in the beginning. However, I've come to expect that from castle autos.

They actually look like something worth using now. You can hardly see where I modified them now they are coated.

Ahh, $330 all up I think. Now I just have to get them in without damaging them.

I've been working on this, but I just havn't been taking pics as there really isn't much to see. Both doors are now finished ready for primer, just about finished smoothing the underside of the bonnet. I welded some steel rod around the hole for the air cleaner so it's got a nice rounded edge, it also strengthened the bonnet back up a lot. I've made a start on shortening the rear bumper to tuck it into the body. It looks heaps better. Just need to find a usable front bumper and do the same to it.

Also picked up a 9" centre today. It's a 3.55:1 LSD 31 spline. So I'll give the LSD a freshen up, shout it some new bearings, get a 1350 series yolk and use it. I'll buy brand new 31 spline axles and that will be it for the diff. Once I get some more money down the track, It'll be getting a Detroit locker, but an LSD will be fine to get it all up and running.

Also looking into getting a fibreglass tailgate.

Well, it'll be a little while. However, we've done a few cars at work and under bonnet temperatures are noticeably cooler with the pipes coated. Don't get me wrong, they're still hot, but definitely cooler.

couldve swore it was you that steered me off coatings, guess not. i had a stang once with proper coatings and i would swear they were almost cool enough to touch, even after 30 mins of idling. i need something sussed, cos my rag joint melts being about 13mm off the stractor, plus the starter is also within an inch so itll die prety quick.

who did you use? id be keen to get mine coated now that i know they fit. and 330 bucks is the right sort of price.... was that mates rates?

Na, I don't recall saying not to do it. It definitely has benifets.

HPC coatings in leongatha did mine. I'd have to check the invoice for sure but I'm sure it was about $330. Mine are tri y's though, I know they charge more for big 4 into 1's. No mates rates, just normal trade price.

Might also pay to weld on a little heat shield where the rag joint is before you get them coated.

Been working on this again. I've finished the underside of the bonnet, it's all smoothed out. I welded all the holes up ages ago, but I never finished them off, so now it's all done. I also finished off the hole, I welded some 6mm steel rod around the edge of the hole to give it a nice round edge, it has come up a treat. The rod also gave the bonnet some rigidity, it was pretty flimsy before. I primed it this arvo, along with the drivers door, so that's finished aswell.

I've also made a start on the bumpers, which I said earlier. The rear has been shortened 30mm to bring it in tighter to the body. The front will need to be shortened about 1" a side to match the rear, but because of the shape I'll have to make a cut either side. The rear I just cut straight down the middle. I need to find a suitable donor for the front as the one I have is rusted out. The plan is to shorten and smooth them, then get them re chromed.

There is also some pics of the diff housing shortened and the diff centre.
