luckily its a V2 so its already got the VY style leather interior. Even though i love the VT, its interior was awful car has since been buffed and polished and now fast asleep under its cover in the back shed. I will buy some brand new headlights for it in time, these are all the wreckers had unfortunately!
Since the moment i bought it, this was my plan. The last thing on the Concept list are the VT GTS/Clubsport/VX Non R8 Clubsport wheels, to finish it off. Unfortunately the concept actually had these wheels, but in 20" which they never made for the public, so i'll have to settle with the 18s. The rest of the car is pretty straight, i'd love to give it a full respray one day, just to clean the whole thing up, but that can wait for now. Oh and custom plates.... got a few in mind, and i know they ALL will be available VT COUPE VT 2 DOOR WOTACNCPT (what a concept) 2DRCOMADR (2 door commodore--bit of a piss take)
ydah, pretty sure im gonna go with "VT COUPE" for the plates, just to finish it off once the wheels have been acquired
these are the 2 photos i had to work off. there isnt much information on the concept cars, all i could scrounge up for differences was the VT front and rear end styling and the custom wheels. Unfortunately, unless i spend mega bucks on some custom made 20" wheels, i'll just have to live with the 18s. But they're gonna look fat anyway!!!! Checking out a set on friday so hopefully they'll be on by the weekend
always loved the vx over the vt shape, but i really don't know what it is about this, but i like it only 2 things i'd have done different would be, i would have kept the projectors, and would think about going some other colour than red, something dark, or white the new VE purple would look impressive (just a suggestions for later )
the car was red, so it stayed red. ultimately the concept car colour would be the go if i resprayed it properly. I contemplated keeping the projector lights, but they just didnt go with the VT front, it still looked too much like the ACTUAL Monaro, whereas i was after the concept look
I recon it's great as is. Projector lights would have cheapened it IMO and being red, well, it's about as one of a kind as you can get. Usually when you get a conversion project they go some crazy arse colour that makes the car stand out. This one, 80% of people won't even notice it and the other 20% will see it, not notice it and then do a doubt take. It's nice an subtle, but interesting for those who know what they are looking at or THINK they know.
Well being red, it stands out enough as a normal Monaro. Not alot of people understand its a concept mock up, they just see a VT front and VT back and wonder, why the hell would someone do that. After i explain, some agree, some disagree, but thats what car customising is about. Its not a VT Clubsport with Monaro lights, or a VN with a VE bodykit, its something that actually existed, and in my eyes, looks awesome. Unfortunately the "VT COUPE" plates have been taken, only thing i can guess is someone in WA owns a Lamborghini VT and has taken them. Looks like i'll be getting "2 DOOR VT" for plates, carbon, black background with white writing A quick mock up with what the DPI gave me
What about the plates: concept 01coupe Coupe vt ??? Love the car not sure on plates, theyl be cool just not sure of there is better?
