This is my 93 VR Calais 5L auto, silver-ish over grey.
She's pretty much stock, apart from the following:

200,000kms
2.5" exhaust with old extractors of sum sort i bought from wreckers.
Lowered with full pedders shocks & springs (not chopped..all new genuine pedders)
K&N flat panel filter with HSV high flow box
VS Calais front bumper with lights
19" rims
High flow water pump
Drilled/slotter rotors
Universal "bonnet bra" (does an excellent job protecting)

I bought it for $4800 about 2 yrs ago..Back then it was pretty grubby and looking worse for ware on stock calais rims, dirty interior, stained rough paint, intake manifold leaks and smashed tail lights.

It is currently out of rego as I have upgraded to a newer commy... It's getting the intake manifold gasket replaced, new front wheel hubs/bearings (abs series requires complete wheel hubs!!) and a brake issue sorted.

Enjoy pics...Hope they work.

Looks tuff. Not a fan of the wheels, but the VS front looks awesome

Cheers guys..yeh those wheels are not my cup of tea, but i only paid $500 for them.
The height with 15" wheels is too low and the fuel tank hits on pretty much flat roads ...The 19's keep it sitting up at a nice height.

"What's Next"?, pretty much just the little problems that need parts replaced to stop coolant leaks etc.
A cam is about the only thing i want for it in future... The paint is not brilliant on the roof (clear coat), but the vz is my new pride n joy these days.

update..

Started fixing up the calais every saturday for the past few weeks..what's been done so far:
*new CV boots
*New ABS wheel hubs/bearings
*Original motor-driven fan removed and replaced with 16" elec thermo fan
*New pair (not brand new tho) of headers painted and bolted on
*Complete top manifold removed to replace inlet manifold gaskets
*Old starter motor bolts replaced because they had fallen out and it wasn't starting randomly
*new diff oil and brake fluid
*higher pedders springs put in rear and original calais wheels put on to pass blue slip

All that is left to do this weekend is cut and weld passenger exhaust to matching header as one side is a different length and doesn't line up (does anyone know why one header is longer?), service the auto gearbox and drop fluid as i think i over filled it last time.. Then rego here she comes!!

couple of update pics of the 5L getting a new headers and manifold gaskets...

hey mate, it already had pedders shocks/springs when i bought it, but then i took it to a 'dunlop spot on' and asked for the rear to be lower and he told me about a set of rears that pedders make.

they arnt too popular and u gotta ask specifically for the lowest they make pretty much... but they are genuine pedders so u can get them any where if u ask i guess.

next time i'm at the place my car's at, i will grab them out of boot and measure them up for ya.

they would suit a non - IRS commy such as vn or vp etc because the amount of negative camber those springs create is just a hassle on the budget.. i have a twin camber kit on vr and it's still pretty bad.
