Hey guys, been a while since I’ve been in here, life gets in the way I guess. Last time was 2016 when I’d just bought a VS Caprice. Was a nice example of one, but had some gremlins, and I had to sell it as it wasn’t reliable enough to get me to work and back everyday.

I’ve now got a boring VE 60th anniversary V6 that’s my daily bus, had that since I sold the Caprice and just bought a VS series 2 factory 5.0L factory manual Ute. Only done 155,000kms (so the odometer says, which still works) I’m slightly sceptical on it though, but either way, doesn’t bother me too much.
Stock as a rock at the moment, nice clean interior, bit of clear coat peeling on some of the panels.
Future plans, probably just extractors and exhaust, some VX GTS rims (favourite HSV rims and reckon they’ll look good on the Ute) and that’s about it. Might look at respray in the future as well, if I can afford it. Kids are expensive!!

I’m sure I’ll be around a bit. Having owned many 304s, I expect a series of weird and hard to identify issues that require many questions

Good if yours is legit low kms though.
I expect intake gaskets and heater tap will be the first to say hi.

Caprice ended up being the dizzy. Done pretty much every sensor I can think of in the past across all the VN-VS V8s I’ve owned.

Took it for a nice drive today while I was “working from home” I sort of forgot how slow these things are stock, haha. What’s the opinions on what I should do to it to get a bit more low end power? Like I don’t need crazy power to race or drag or anything like that, just want a bit more responsiveness in the lower gears and take off. I’m thinking either full exhaust system with extractors, or maybe a stage 1 cam kit. Budget isn’t huge, maybe 2-3k all up

Secondhand extractors cat and 3" exhaust if can find may need to buy the exhaust new.

Deck the heads and fit a cam in the 210-220 range for street.

Mail order memcals from Joe at ace if on a budget or Al at kalmakers around $1000 for a custom tune.

3.9's if T5 being series 2 it'll be getrag. 3.45 is great in them. 3.7's good but a lot of changing.
