Yea this is a thread on my car... and all the things that happen with it, including (to my dissappointment) roadworthy status...

Bummer on the roadworthy, seems like they picked you up on mostly every little thing, maybe get another quote some where else? Good luck, need some pics!

You reckon I should get a roadworthy somewhere else? Do you know anyone who may "not notice" the small stuff that doesnt matter?

definitely take it somewhere else for the roadworthy thats total BS!
people try and charge anything thesedays and just rip people off and most arent mechanically savvy so they just got right ahead and pay $1000 for a $200 fix

They said I'd be lucky to get any change from $3,000 to get it there... i didnt understand as it was roadworthied last year.

i just overhauled my power steering rack...

NOTE TO ALL: Pay the extra $100 for a reco rack as DIY with power steering is a B*TCH!

P.S. My landlord's gonna kill me for the p/s oil stain on the driveway.

$20 quick fix for scratches in windscreen...

At first i tried to cut and polish the scratches out, but it didnt work too well... dont get me wrong, it did remove the scratches but it took forever.
I then was reccommended by a mate to use toothpaste?!?! It worked... alot better than the cut and polish.
I then got in contact with a few glaziers and they pointed me in the way of Cerium Oxide (aka Opticians Rouge)... WOW what a miracle worker!!! NOT A SCRATCH!
this stuff is amazing and I reccommend it to all people who have annoying light scratches on the windscreen (although if you can feel the scratch when you rub your hand along it, it probably needs to be ground down first).
