Hi my car recently run out of rego and has sat in my driveway for one month. I have never had a problem starting at ever and now it won't start. The battery died and was ruined so I bought a new battery worth $200. It still won't start. I think that the key or the immobiliser might have something to do with it. The buttons on the key are broken would that affected it? it's never affected it before. A few people say they have bought new keys and it's done nothing so I don't want to waste your money if it's not the key. Is there a way to disable the immobilizer? Do I need to reset the computer because I've put a new battery in. When I turn it over it wants to go, it's turning over but it won't actually fully turn on.

Do you hear fuel pump priming when you turn the reds on?

I read this a lot. Funny thing is you can't always hear the pump prime. Some pumps are really quiet.

Have you tried paying the rego to see if that solves the problem (LOL)?

Sometimes you can mistake the sound of the injectors initialising for fuel pump noise. Only way to know,(if you haven't done this already) is to get underneath car where fuel tank is and get someone to turn the reds on. You should definitely hear pump prime for 2+seconds

I can't hear my pump prime but I used to be able to. I'd like to hear it so I know when to crank in sub 0 temps.
