what should i do next? im looking at extractors and new coil packs (msd or yellow jacket) but not sure any suggestions?
my weekend, mace 1.98:1 ultra high ratio rockers, 25mm CAI spacer, 12mm plenum spacer, 69mm bored out throttle body, and tuned memcal to suit. it goes much better and i can still get 1000km out of a tank of caltex 98ron which isnt too bad. current list of mods blue leds in dash and speedo 3000w stereo CAI auto start kit (i like scaring ppl with this ) mace bits ^^^^^ blue leds in boot xenon globes and blue led parkers 100cpsi cat converter rebuilt trans with a stage 2 shift kit and corvette servos (one of the best things ive done) on the way is red back cat back system with two mufflers to cut drone and not bee too loud pacemaker extractors yellow jacket coil packs has anyone been any further than this? what do i do next any help will be appreciated
Seems like you've done a lot for it mate, I like how you're keeping progress, I enjoy the stats Get some more now with the rockers, I wanna see how they've improved
Now thats pretty good on a 240,000+kms motor. I can only get around the 550 mark with mine and its onlt got 95,000kms
thanx guys it had a full service history and i drop everything every 5000km to make sure it'll last and keep it running, kinda cheap insurance. just had a spin and... 09/04/2012 5:07 pm 0-100 km/h: 7.7 s 0-10 km/h: 0.4 s 0-20 km/h: 0.9 s 0-30 km/h: 1.5 s 0-40 km/h: 2.1 s 0-50 km/h: 2.8 s 0-60 km/h: 3.4 s 0-70 km/h: 3.9 s 0-80 km/h: 5.0 s 0-90 km/h: 6.5 s 0-100 km/h: 7.7 s 0-110 km/h: 9.4 s 0-100 m: 6.1 s 0-200 m: 9.6 s 0-10 km/h: 2 m 0-20 km/h: 5 m 0-30 km/h: 11 m 0-40 km/h: 18 m 0-50 km/h: 28 m 0-60 km/h: 38 m 0-70 km/h: 49 m 0-80 km/h: 72 m 0-90 km/h: 111 m 0-100 km/h: 142 m 0-110 km/h: 194 m 0-100 m: 87.7 km/h 0-200 m: 111.1 km/h Peak: 114 km/h 0-60 mph: 7.3 s so there is a def improvement with the stuff from mace also if your running a fairly stock vt i highly recommend a CAI (doesnt have to be expensive just as long as i has a box and pod filter) and a stage 4 chip as bad as it sound but from ebay i am currently running this one till my exhaust and will swap to the mace tuned one. Holden Commodore VT A V6 STAGE 4 performance chip### | eBay (mine was 70ish but they are on sale atm) the chip was the first thing i did and i got about 60-150km extra than i think with more poke and then more with the CAI but i still had a stock exhaust as i still do lol very sneaky
rip that chip out before it does some damage, the car wont run any worse off with the mace tune without the exhaust done i cant reccomend some 3.7 or 3.9 gears enough. the 3.7's will be more driver friendly if this is your normal daily but i wouldnt go a 3.45 as there isnt a whole lot of 'gain' i felt in a mates. after he went back and swapped it for a 3.9 it was notably better but a bit thirsty on the highway
ive had the chip in for about 11000km and its fine and nothing is out of normal and i do get better fuel econ and more power, with the mace chip i tried it and there was too much back pressure in the exhaust because its tuned for extractors, high flow cat and 2.5" high flow cat back, soon as these come it will be going in though. as with the diff gears i have thought about them but i want to keep highway economy, but going with a 3.7 ratio will it raise the revs at 100km/h? but how much does fuel econ suffer for performance?
I think your res at 100 should go form 1800 to 2000ish? from memory (~2200 with 4.11) Also what do you use to measure these speeds?
ok thanks if some 3.7's come up ill look alot closer and for the speeds i use a gps app on my phone, its called GTx and i have a nokia c6-01 and that does everything for me but i know there is speed view pro or something close to that for android phones and drag racer ect ect just depends on your phone and operating system oh today the yellow jackets came it feels more freely reving and builds revs faster but haven't driven much and the cat back is on the back table when the extractors get here it'll be nearly done
They should help a fair bit with all the other mods you have Also cheers, ugh I don't have a good phone though, some LG piece of **** ahah but thanks
go the 3.9s mate , youll feel a noticeable difference  Sent from my GT-S5570 using Tapatalk
but what revs will i sit at when im doing 100km/h is there a way to work it out? i do a bit of highway driving so i cant lose to much economy on the open road.
There is, I'm not too sure, also if you're getting 1000 km to a tank that's absolutely great as is. Also I've heard and seen people calculate that with 3.9's your car will shift into 3rd when flooring it at about 96km/h or so, so before 100. I'm getting 3.7's because I don't want two shifts before 100
i got these that might help this is to work out tyre diameter Driveline Calculator Version 1.0 and this to work out rpm gear ratio/speed/rpm calculator from this i sit on 1800 rpm with 3.08 and then 2020 rpm with 3.45 and 2175 rpm with 3.7 finally 2300 rpm with 3.9s thats all in 4th in an auto
1000km from a tank? I doubt they did that from factory. Also using a phone app isnt a very scientific way to test your car.
