    I recon.
I was paid out 20k through insurance. Brought back the wreck for 5k. That put 15k in the bank for the rebuild.
    So it's all good.

    Final buff going down tonight.
Check out Matt's concentration on the bonnet! Both Matt and Craig are doing a sick job. Their attention to detail is insane. Cheers guys.

For those interested in the chassis kit. Someone asked what was the weight of it. I've just been told is 22kg. So it isn't lite but I believe it's worth it's weight.

    whats 22kg between friends-lol

safety is more paramount and from what you have said and believe I think it is the best thing to do for that added protection-as you said before if it wasn't for the kit your mate wouldn't be here

    22kg is not a lot of weight-imo

Shame about the circumstances, but nice looking rebuild Pete. I really like those wheels!
surprised I've missed this thread till now.

have you done a before and after dyno run with the exhaust cutouts open and closed?
i'd been thinking of fitted these for the drags, but keen to know if it picks up any hp.

    Hey cheers.
It'll be going back on the dyno at Jonathan shop (Harman Brothers Racing, 2/43 Garlands Road, Woolston) next month so I'll let you know. I'm not expecting any big gains. The cutoffs are there just for sound more than anything. ;)
As far as dyno tuning, in Chch Jonathan is the only one I recommend to do a mafless tune. I've tried 2 other places round town (won't publicly mention them) and they were rubbish. Jonathan really knows what he's doing. He's transformed my car since he had it on his dyno. The original motor that was in my Clubby (LS1) my brother bought off me for his jet boat. Jonathan's tuned that too with impressive results.
    Roll on next month. :)

    Will do.
There are other videos of it on the dyno on my youtube page:
This one a couple of years ago.

This one just last night after the steering column was changed. My mate was just checking if the steering wheel was straight.

Hey Pete, thanks for letting me know about Jonathan at Harmon Brothers Racing. I've booked my SS in october the 20th of december. He is doing specials on tunes at the moment so i recommend anyone around the Canterbury area of NZ get in now while the special is on.
And that is one mean sounding HSV you have there!

I hope you never go back to that shop again, and who ever attached chains to a towbar to strap down a car is shot.
Also 'testing the wheel was straight'.....................I see some people never learn.
Just need another 110rwkw for your number plates to be true now :beer chug:
