It's been a steep learning curve. Went from a street legal Husky TE510 trail bike to the Aprilia. Owned it from new. Done 16,000k and still learning. Hate to admit what I had before the Clubby. But my twin bro has owned V8's before me. He owns a 56 FJ Holden and a VZ Maloo. I went from a 2000 Honda Accord to the stock VX 02 255KW Clubby. haha But I love it. Owned the Clubby for over 8 years now.
yeah, is a nice looking bike.. looks like a well stocked shed.. :yeah: what other goodies you got lurking in there? you had anymore done on the VX? must be due to get your licence back soon.
Just a 06 Aprilia Tuono RSV V-Twin 1000. It's been chipped and had a Akrapovic pipe thrown on. That's my only other toy. Looking forward to getting on that once I get my license back too. 2 weeks tomorrow to go.
It's been at the compliance shop this week. Hope to have it road registered next week. Just in time for when I get my license back.
Goes ok. Wouldn't mind giving it a hoon round the local track where you could open it right up. My mates say the "chicken strips" on my back tire are still to thick. Gotta learn to lean it harder in the corners. Haha
Just heard from the guys doing the rebuild that it's passed Compliance this avo! Stoked as!! I'll be getting her road registered as a Clubby tomorrow. After then it'll be street legal. I'll be installing the cutoffs back on tonight though. So the build started at start of June and finished at the end of November. So it's taken around 6 months which I reckons been pretty good if I may say so myself.
that is awesome pete, congrats to you and the guys and yes 6mths is a bloody good job, congrats again all round to the boys on a job bloody well done :beer chug::beer chug::beer chug:
Cheers! Some people that haven't read this thread and read the following might not understand but. If I could trade my rebuilt VX Clubby for my staffy dog that I killed when I wrote the last VX off? I'd do it in a heart beat. Still miss you girl.
Finally home. This is my flatmate (the dude that was in the passenger seat when i stacked it) Willie driving it home today.
I know you would,at least you can take comfort from the fact that she taught you a valuable lesson, something you will always remember her by. rip girl
Had a friend take my Clubby for a hoon down a deserted road last night. he loved the badlandzhpe.com cutoffs. Said he felt like he was driving a NAS car. lol
How do I thumbsdown something? 180k's on a backroad??? how did your first car end up round a pole again???? So disappointed in where this thread just went. Want to go that quick go to a track.
Didn't really look deserted either, looks like a few houses down there... Car sounded nice, and didnt look like that speedo could keep up ahaha..
Fair enough. The road was closed but I respect where you're coming from. I've removed the video from being public.
