Hey can anyone give me an idea what may be wrong. I turn on the ignition and I get the word ERROR come up on the display panel, also I can't get the electric windows to operate. I was thinking maybe the security module was fried. Dave

There's a thread here http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/vt-vx-holden-commodore-1997-2002/128155-vx-dashboard-display-error.html that might help, but if it doesn't, then tried disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, and see if it clears the error code from memory (just in case, it's a simple fix). Also have you changed anything recently, like the ECU or BCM at all, coz that could possibly be your problem.

If not, then try just using the search function for the forum board, because there are quite a few threads with similar issues, and some have different answers, and different ways too test for the problem. I think that I just typed in "VX error dash" and it bough up a few threads with similar issues.

I'd help try and search a bit more, but it's 6:15 in the morning, and I've only had an hours sleep,so I'm pretty tired, but if you haven't found the answer by the time I wake up in the morning, then I'll have another look.

    I hope this helps mate
