I've seen this question asked already in another thread here, but thought I'd make a new thread instead so it is more visible.

Does anyone know what the difference between MY09 and MY09.5 VE's are? The only Google search result I've seen on the topic is from another forum where someone claimed it added AFM (Active Fuel Management) - formerly known as DOD (Displacement On Demand).

I've also read that AFM is coming to the V8 VE's from January 2009 (see Holden Commodore - AFM for V8, not V6 - New Models).

If this is the case, are some car dealers advertising the "January 2009" model before it has been released, or has it already been released earlier than expected?

Finally, is there some technical list of changes available between each VE commodore build (MY08, MY09, etc)?

    Thanks :)

    from what I remember:

-silver highlights (currently in new ones but it is a 9.5 feature)
    -AFM on V8 automatics only
-a steering column shroud energy absorber (across the VE sedan range that helps to reduce driver knee injuries)
-a passenger-side seat belt reminder (on the Omega sedan for now, introduced some time next year on other models)
-only one V6 engine - the 195kw* Alloytec, but detuned to 175* for Omega/Berlina (as opposed to both the standard 175 and the 'high output' alloytec)
    -No more V8 Berlina
-Sportwagons built from 01/01/2009 will have Reverse Camera (screen located in rear view mirror) as standard

    2013 MY12.5 SV6Z + 2016 MY16 SV6, both manuals
    Best Guess

    Hi,

I originally asked the question because I was looking at buying a SV6.

Was looking at Redbook new vehicles, and noticed only some models have MY09.5 available. Wagons, Omega and Berlina from memory, and for 175KW V6/4 speed auto versions only. Major outcome was improved fuel consumption. Overall fuel consumption of MY09.5 vehicles was around 10.4L/100KM, versus 11.2 (manual) and 11.4 (auto) for the 195KW vehicles.

SV6 is still only available in MY09, so my question was answered.

AFM is on all V8 Automatics - Sedan, Ute, Statesman/Caprice, SportWagon... regarding the shroud and seat belt reminder, I am not sure, but i dare say the utes will get them as it'll all be the same dashboard and front seats... also the reverse camera will utilise the TV screen in V series sportwagon models...

Anyone know when holden decided to change the passenger seat electrics to 4 way (instead of 8 way) on the calais / statesman models? (cheeky bastards).
Am looking at buying a late model used Calais V, and need to know the latest model that still has 8 way adjustment.
Also been looking a WM caprices', and noticed they've got rid of the cool flip out door bins. I know they did this quite early-on with the Calais models, but didn't expect them to do it with the caprice as well!
