MY17 Specs and Release Date

Just to update everyone with my order and to the shortage which Holden themselves appear to have created. I spoke with the dealer on Friday. My order is apparently locked in to receive one of the Redlines they were due to get.

It sounds like anything with a black roof is pre-allocated, including base colour, because the dealer have had to ask Holden to change the colour of mine at the factory. I've ordered Heron White. I'm not sure what colour the car was supposed to be originally.

We are in the same position, an ordered heron white, with black roof (hardly any down our way) and the dealer was slated to get one in 2017....turns out that is now ours. They mustn't be able to do the black turret anymore or something, besides sending it to someone like me.... Panelbeater

Hey everyone, first time posting here. Thanks to everyone for sharing valubale info regarding the MY17 commodore, it really helped me make an informed decision.

I've ordered a Red SS-V Redline (Auto) with the black roof option. The expected delivery date is 25th January. I was wondering what price everyone else that ordered a redline with black roof received (if you don't mind sharing ofcourse)?

The black roof pack is a separate allocation, not included among the regular Redline allocations, so these will be particularly rare (we only got allocated 1 Auto also). And yes, all special edition Redline sedans will have the black roof.

Ok so you saying if you got 5 Redlines allocated they are normal ones (standard) no options, then you will get one allocated with black roof? One allocated with spoiler? Cos Im not following

Does anybody know when production at the factory kicks back into gear? (and secondly how long the production from start to finish takes)

I've got an estimated delivery of 21st Feb. think i remember reading they are not opening back up till 19th Jan (coincide with the media release...?). Personally i don't mind if it arrives late, gives me a couple more weeks of cash flow

Okay, so today everything fell to ****. I've just been informed by the lease company that the dealer was unable to get the colour change done.

I've since spoken to another dealer who is of the opinion that the dealer would have pulled out of the deal realising that they could get more for the vehicle selling to a non-fleet purchaser.

The fleet company put out a request for a new vehicle and no other dealer in Victoria responded with an offer for a MY17 Redline.

There is some good news, I've managed to secure a MY16 Redline with a black roof. I just need to fit the blackout pack myself, at some point. At least I get that carbon like trim, which I've got a soft spot for.

The black roof cars are actually their own model, so essentially they build standard Redlines and black roof Redlines. It's not just an option you can add to any car, the car has to be preferenced as a black roof car, because the factory can only handle a certain number of these in any given period. In the allocations given to dealers, the standard cars and black roof cars were split into separate lines.

They're back on deck today. So cars will finish final assembly today or tomorrow and start rolling out to dealers this week.

Oh ok, thanks for that, my MY16 I optioned with the black roof and know that the car goes through paint shop once, then gets taken off line a re-feed back in to get black roof done.

Employee pricing was released today and Redline has taken a massive jump from 40,760 in july to 44,200. Wonder if the same price hike will be applied to retail customers.
