VF Redline Sedan - A6 Spitfire MSE...
Post some pics ;)

One thing i like about the director, still has some chrome around the door frames etc which should break up the black with the darker colours and help colours like soag sparkle/standout that little bit more.
Like you said, black suits the spitfire very well though imo

Here's a few pics Spiderpig. Messenger does the trick ;-) Old dog, new tricks haha. Well, I like the look anyway. It's a Redline. But it could just as easily pass as a Calais. Glossy sleeper look...and before anyone chips in. No, i didn't buy a lift kit. It's factory.

i like the SOG with the chrome, black a bit to dark for me.

Best new colour.

When I saw this car in the showroom, it was the first MY17 car I saw in the new colours. I was so impressed that I almost was about to place a deposit, until the salesman stated what high price he wanted for it. So I said 'thank you very much' and then shopped around...

Anyway, this colour does look a lot better in the showroom than the picture actually shows.

Hi JivRedline, your car does look fantastic, red hot has a real depth to it in the sun, it almost looks as though it glows. It makes my task all the harder, trying to pick a colour, I was contacted this arvo from the dealer wanting to finalise the order. Holden is now loading up their system with the limited editions, I was given a build date of the 26th of June. What to do??

Hey Martin! One of the main reasons I picked red was because it looks great in direct sunlight, as well as shade. Surprisingly the car turns quite a lot of heads for a commodore, considering how common they are (I'm suspecting due to the colour).

The small disadvantage of the colour is that sometimes it attracts too much attention. I don't park my car at shopping centre car parks, as the red paint tends to "glow" amongst the other cars; which attracts alot of attention.

However I'm extremely satisfied with the colour and would highly recommend it!

Hi Martin, that would make you the first person to have an actual build date for your car, have you received your GMON yet? Can you find out how your dealer found out the build date?
G'day PSISLE, I'm not sure if I'm the first, the sales rep told me she had 3 owners to contact for June builds, my car is the last one for June for her. She was asked by someone at the dealership, I'm not sure if the request came through Holden. Not sure why the rush still 4 months out. To be honest PSISLE, I don't know what the acronym GMON means. What I do know is the delivering dealership will be contacted by HEC upon completion of each car to confirm delivery details and build number. The commemorative case and model will then be couriered to each dealership and it is their responsibility to hand these to the owner at the time of vehicle delivery. Dealerships have the option of purchasing the car covers to make handover a "memorable" experience. I haven't optioned the cover, not for a daily driver and the $750 bill plus $220 if you want your name/build number sewn on. For the collectors it would be good though. Hey PSISLE, have you ordered a special edition, sorry mate, I can't remember who has/hasn't.

View attachment 190302 Hey everyone, just a small update on my MY17 Redline. I had Ceramic Paint protection applied a week ago and I also got the windows tinted (Carbon, 35%). Thought I'd post a pic up incase anyone else is considering these options :)

Nice.

Post up some photos in the 'VF' section of ‘Show Off Your Ride’ as more people will see it from there.

Hi JivRedline, You know your comments re too much attention is exactly what my wife said, it is a great colour though and it certainly does grab attention. Its one of the colours that really suits the gloss black trims and wheels, a nice contrast, great choice.

Hi Martin, yeah I've getting a director, my order is finalised but still haven't had a build date, which I am after to get everything in order (have a build a little house to store her in) GMON is the GM order number, once your contract is signed at the dealer, the dealer stock controller send the order to Holden, who then issue the dealer (and the customer through the dealer) the official Gm order number for that vehicle. For the specials, you'll need the gmon to reserve your build number

*high-fives*
I don't want to lower our Regal Peacock Redline, because it's already a bit scrapey on our pretty non-aggressive driveway ... but yeah, on standard suspension & standard rims, she does look a little tippy-toey, especially compared to some of the rides around this forum. :)

The colour is always the hardest thing to choose when buying a car. Just a note about Red Hot being a non-metallic colour (as too is Heron White) as all other colours are a Prestige Paint (as Holden puts it) and possibly a metallic colour. My wife bought a Cruze SRi-V in Heron White and she finds it difficult to wash and clean, but my Captiva in Iceberg Blue (which is a metallic colour) is always a lot easier to wash and clean, although it being 3 years older than the Cruze. The Red Hot and the Heron White are the same paint as both the Commodore and the Cruze, with both cars manufactured at the Elizabeth plant. Maybe the Red Hot will be easier to clean...

I've got a nitrate SS wagon and a sting (red hot) GTS. The metallic hides dirt much much better.
Then again, there's a big sense of pride washing your bad a$$ V8 in your driveway every weekend while your Hyundai SUV neighbors look on in envy.
