Hi All,

I just changed the spark plugs on my VZ V6 Adventra and found a hose that I can't locate where it should be connected to. The bottom of the hose comes out of the front differential (see pic) by a metal pipe and then connects to a rubber pipe. I have spent about 30 minutes looking and I cannot find where it suppose to connect to. There doesn't appear to be any vacant connectors under the plenum or any within reach of the hose. If anyone knows where this hose is suppose to go can you please let me know, it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks for your help.

Pete

Found my answer, apparently it's a breather for the front diff. If anyone knows how I can delete my original post it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers

Leave the post there.
It might help someone else who is scratching their head.

Did you manage to reuse the manifold gasket or did you replace it?

Thanks ozNick, I didn't need to change the manifold gasket as I followed the advice of Ricey who said if you don't remove the font left bolt and the rear right bolt then you can manoeuvre the plenum to get at all the spark plugs and coils. Although I do have the gaskets and will keep a hold of them just in case I need to replace them in the future. If anyone needs to look at how to change VZ spark plugs there are a couple of threads on it. I mainly referenced this one.

It stays loose. I have some diff breather filters that go in the end (rear as well) and will be extending them to the firewall where they can be secured better and away from water more.

This is the breather filter I have used. Or one like it, mine are buried in a box somewhere. I’m a bit suss to them because they seem identical to airstones for fish tanks yet some command prices of $60 or more. I paid $7

I don't think those are filters as such, they are silencers used on pneumatics to cut down noise, see:

Well, they are sold by lots of businesses as diff breather filters and fish tank air stones.

Just a thingy that doesn’t allow as much schmutz down the breather as it would without it.

This is $100! Bloody uses water filter hose and fittings and fish tank air stones.
