    Hi guys,

I know my interior needs a clean :p. I was wondering if anyone knows what these two cables pictured in the attachments are in my VS?

One of them is in the area where the fuses go, and looks a bit like an audio connector but it's not 3.5" like an audio connector.

The second one is under where the gear selector/ashtray/12v accessory port cover is. The extra cable is one I put there, but I'm not sure what the other one is with what appears to be a large metal connector at the end?

    Thanks guys :D

Didn't used to have a hands free kit in it? And the aerial is plugged into the HU as well?

S1 VS Executive, I'm not sure though I think the previous owner might have had hands free, but this cable is cable-tied up pretty neat. Still weird that it's in the fuse box though

I ended up getting the HU installed professional so I don't know if the aerial is plugged in or not, though I'd guess is it because the radio works fine (despite the antenna being snapped).. hmm mysterious mystery cables!

could have had a CB radio in there at some stage maybe? in the first pic it defiantly looks like an audio cable of some sort and in the second pic it looks like a coaxial cable.

this sounds about right, something that a previous owner has fitted. pretty sure it's not a factory fitting

Yep I agree, id say its either for a CB radio or a handsfree kit

Yeah I would suggest that the cable under the driver's side is from a mobile phone handsfree kit, and that cable probably plugged into the module, or speaker. The other cable looks like coaxial cable for the antenna.

My S1 VS Executive doesn't have those plugs, so they're defineately custom and not factory. I'd say it's a hands free kit because it looks like a mono plug which is usually microphone. You'll have to rip the whole dash apart to find out ;) Good Luck!

P.S. seriously, you just remove the stereo surround and have a look around the stereo to see if they connect up there somewhere. The factory attachments for a handsfree unit are under the glovebox and it's possible these connections might even be connected to the factory ones as extensions. That sounds like something I would do!

*Edit: Reading above, a CB Unit would also accept these plugs perfectly as I did actually do something similar years ago in a HZ to get the sound from the CB onto the stereo system.

    cd stacker ?

found same with my car, found to be cables setup by gm at build for a cd stacker unit, i actually went to a holden dealer and made enquiries, the setup would've cost about 800 bucks.
