Gday guys ive got a weird problem i can't get to the bottom of, me VT runs nice but would randomly cut out and not start.

I changed the alternator and starter motor then gave it a jump as my bat was flat. It only just cranked over then immediately cut out when i took the jumper cables off. I dug around the power terminal from the alternator and found it was ruined so i changed it out (just the cable from alt to bat) jumped it again and it run and kept running after removing the jumper cables but only for a minute or so then cut out agian.

Now its just clicking and barely trying to turn at all even with the jump.

Any ideas would be much appreciated as im banging my head against the wall.

    Cheers.

Dead battery? Might need to be trickle charged overnight.

sounds like your battery is either flat or faulty and your alternator is faulty
did you fit a known good alternator

if new battery dies overnight and stalling issues sounds like shorted diode in alternator or your new battery is faulty

Ended up being a broken spring in the ignition switch. Swapped it out by now my bloody steering lock is stuck and the key won't turn at all.

Other than that it starts....just but sometimes stalls while idling but is has no exhaust, drive shaft or diff fitted atm. Not sure if that would make a difference
