Tough times for teens with knives | The Daily Telegraph so if your gonna go around carrying a knife, i suggest you carry a fishing rod also....
Why exactly would you need to carry a leatherman? Sound slike good law changes providing magistrates use the law to its full extent.
i carry a multi tool in my car that also has a knife, for fixing things or cutting my p plates off when they fade
You cant use a knifeless multi tool? Surely you can cut the plates off at home before leaving in the car? I can't imagine them fading on a short trip somewhere...
People are still going to carry knives. The problem lies with the people, new laws are not always going to solve the problem.
So wouldnt it be in your toolbox? Not sure you need to keep it in your pocket 24/7? I am not saying do not have valid reasons to carry these, but surely if your not on a worksite its not hard to keep it in a toolbox? We used them in the army, never carried them around when we were off base etc though lol.
i have a small multi-tool in my pocket 6 days a week when im working, its got a small knife on it, probably only about 5cms long, perfect for opening boxes. its engraved by work so i guess its alright to have it for work purposes reading what you had there.
Knifes are for pussies, it's a good law most of the time having one will end up getting yourself stabed with your own knife anyway
Bottle Opener DUHH! (Young and Jacksons for example who dont give the band opened bottles!) As well as being ready for whatever happens, you've always got a quick tool available. When i do installs at customers places i make sure i have mine on me. There's also one in my car and one at home. Great to have wherever you are to fix whatever. I do however know the damage one can do having stabbed myself with one. It doesn't matter if the laws exist, people need to know how to solve things without resorting to violence.
I have a leatherman on me when I'm at work, usually on my belt when I head home as well. Use it for heaps of things, untying fences, retying fences mainly.
Whoever doubts the usefulness of leathermans, obviously hasn't had much life experience. Ever around when someone says "Anyone got a screwdriver/scissors/knife/file/pliers?" A leatherman solves all these issues.
I'm all for the laws. Its good something is being done before we end up like the UK with a stabbing every 2nd day. btw guys, minux isn't saying you can't 'own' a multitool etc, he's saying theres no need to carry it 24/7.
And we're saying that there are reasons to carry it beyond work hours (mainly to be able to deal with whatever), not 24/7 though [unless people sleep with it on them, which i have no problem either]. They're so handy to have whenever the situation arises that you or someone else need them. The only argument that there is against this is that a leatherman has a knife in it... but there are respsonsible people who wont use it against another human, then there is the scum who would and deserve to rot. But whether or not it's illegal it's not going to stop anyone. What about speeding? There's speed cameras everywhere, speeding is against the law, but yet so many people decide to speed.
Would you need your leatherman if you go out to dinner at the pub? Or going shopping? I don't think so........ There will always be responsible people who are effected because of laws, i don't see the issue tho. Its not like your going to lose your job because of it......
