I'd be more comfortable with 600, especially under that plywood in the first pic.

900 centres is what is trusses are normally designed on in recent years and are worked out on the long span to how they are made. No need for 600 if the trusses have been engineered properly. 1200 centres might be a bit far, but engineering standards might be different in NZ.

Engineering for roof support is different to supporting a load on those storage "platforms".

My concern is lack of support for the platforms that could sag with weight on them.

I'm sure @Deuce doesn't wanting something crashing down on either him, his family or his vehicles.

I need a new shed too, but haven't got the space....damn it.
I'd love a big ass shed....with a chill out section for bar fridge, pool table, dart board (with a piccy of ScoMo's face on it),

After cyclone Tracey Australia adopted the NZ standard except that they added in provisions for cyclones that don't happen in NZ. Houses in NZ do not have a rod that goes from the top plate to beneath the bottom plate

Trusses are designed with a load rating. Last time I had anything to do with trusses they were for a house. They were spaced at 900 mm centres and made of 100 x 50 pine. Obviously as the load increases so does the size of the timber and the bracing of the truss.

My shed is only 4 years old.
Now that I am getting a bit more organised and comfortable with the garage, an extra metre of width would make it more comfortable (up to 7m from current 6m).
9m depth with big work bench and storage at the far end seems really good and workable.
On another note, hanging things to keep the floor as tidy as possible:

Have collated some specs after a quick session of looking at various brochures and basic spec plans. This table prob won't be 100% accurate as i rushed it but gives a good idea of how they compare to each other. Prices are not including delivery to either house or depot. When it comes to it, I'll probably use a car trailer to pick up at depot, then unbox it on the trailer at home and move it with a few mates.

The BendPak looks the goods so far due to its narrow width. Needs a compressor though to disengage the safety locks. Have contacted them for pricing and to see if there is a 3 phase option on the motor. Hero Hoists and Tufflift also look the goods.

Meanwhile still chasing up shed builders, fark me its atrocious how some of them run their business.
