Love need for speed, but not fortunate enough to have an xbox, xbox 360 or ps3 so don't get to try out the newer games, but can play High Stakes on PS1 for days :D

    1) Need For Speed is ok, they are trying to tailor the different society. On one hand they have the old school Need For Speed addicts who prefer driving and being chased by the cops and stuff. They don't like to have the car being tuned up that much. Then there's the other society which likes modding their cars and do all sorts of fancy stuff like drifting, etc. Both of these society apparently are incompatible with each other.

I'm more of the one that likes the ability to tune up cars and be involved in a type of race that I prefer the most: drifting especially mountain/canyon drifting. I liked Need For Speed: Underground, Underground 2 (I hated rap songs so I always have game music off) and Carbon. Apparently, with Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Pro Street, its EA games trying to cater for the other lot. I won't be obtaining a copy of this newly released game until I see the gameplay satisfy my needs.

    2) No its not out yet, but soon :)

yeah not actually working at the moment (need to re-install windows), I could play games on laptop but cant be bothered, but games like ND4SPD I like to play on console, too used to playing with control....When I first played Juiced i lost the first match which gives you your first car because i was pressing "A" not the right trigger :| lol but Carbon would have to be my fav out of the ones ive played

Probably they haven't woken up to the fact that we are just as addicted as they are :) Afterall, if you look at it this way, its not only EA Games are the only company believing Monaro and TS50 (AU V8 in NFS:II HP) as the best Australia has produced. I think Gran Turismo also follows similar movement.

Not to mention the GTS and XR8 from high stakes.

Most wanted was the last decent game they made. They disappointed me with Carbon, and they made me think about buying an atari when i played pro street. If this on fizzles, thats it for this franchise for me.

does anyone know if the game used the same engine as the previous 3 NFS's? The underground 2 engine was the best for physics and gameplay. everything after that has been a ****ing waste of space. I actually bought carbon played it for 10 seconds and hated the physics of the cars and then returned it.

I have NFS Underground, NFS Most Wanted, NFS Carbon and pro street. Unfortunately I don;t have NFSU 2 , Although I always wanted to get it, just never got around to it.

Carbon is the one that I thought was not so good, it was very short, and got a bit boring after a while.

The others were great though. And while I hated Pro Street when I first played it, the physics and stuff quickly grew on me and I loved the game. Was a long game too.

Also, any of you guys gonna be getting Midnight Club, Los Angeles? I have all the Midnight club games, was the first racing game series I ever played, so probs my fav. :)

I used to have them all but gave up after NFS MW (or Underground 2). They become the same old stuff, get a lancer, modify it, sticker rise it, start a race with another sticker rised ricer.

Back in the NFS HS days I'd sit on the computer for hours on a Friday/Saturday night and mod cars while chatting to people I had never met on ICQ. My speciality was replicating police cars for the pursuit stuff so 3d modelling, handling etc etc but between our group of enthusiests we managed eveything every states police scheme on an AU XR8 and VX SS, V8 Supercars, road cars, old touring cars. One of the guys created a performance center where you could do a 1/4 mile to check the performance mods, or just thrash on the burnout pad.

Then Porsche Unleashed came out and killed it, we couldnt modify the 3D files as they were locked. when someone finally unlocked them it was only minimal we could acctually modify, which killed the modifying enthusiest.

I miss the days of NFS HS on PS1, I'd battle my mate for pink slips and we'd go for hours on end, especially while waiting for V8 Supercars to start on Channel 10! As for the PC version, well nothing like racing someone in hot pursuit in a VX SS you've just created :D
