hi all,

i have recently noticed my ute was using some coolant and i didnt think too much of it, so i topped up the coolant in the radiator which was at about 60%. Next day checked it again had to do the same, now as of last week i have put in a new thermostat, new radiator, new water pump and new radiator cap, took it for a drive and checked it again lastnight but its still using coolant. it's like if its not not circulating as the reservior bottle hasnt moved levels since i found it was using coolant. Im going to check the hoses connected to the bottle and see if there is a hole which could be why its not drawing back in........ANY IDEA'S ON WHAT IT COULD BE WOULD BE APPRECIATED THANX !!!

Take it to a radiator place and get it pressure tested.

The red coolant should be easy to see if its leaking elsewhere such as the hoses that go through the throttle body, heater hoses etc..

If it's not leaking externally (easily spotted via stains ect) then must be leaking internally ie head gasket. As mentioned get a preasure test done or is the motor running as smooth as normal? If it's developed a rough idle that's bad. Run a compression test or pull the plugs when the engine is cold and compare them. If there is a water leak one (or two if it's leaking between cylinders) will probably be wet with condensation. Compare all the plugs and you will notice if one or two are different to the rest. At least you can check the plugs for free and if there all tan in colour that's good.
All the best, Stu.

Any sighs of water in the oil or oil in the coolant?

Nah there are no leaks anywhere(green coolant also) but it only seems to be susing a little bit of coolant each time now.... maybe it just needs the system to be bled?? or does it bleed it self ??

there are no signs of water in oil or vice versa as i checked both of these. I have it booked in this week for a pressure test so ill see how it goes after that... thanx guys.
