There are online calculators that are great for this. I like this one
https://www.blocklayer.com/rpm-gear.aspx

T5 Ratios:

V6 V8
First: 3.25 2.95
Second: 1.99 1.94
Third: 1.29 1.34
Fourth: 1.00 1.00
Fifth: 0.72 0.73

Plug in the numbers and see how things play out on the calculator.

I guess it depends on what you want to achieve, what you use the car for etc. With the T5 with 3.45 gears you will have see roughly 2000rpm @100km/h with 4.11 gears about 2400rpm@100km/h and first gear will be real short.

For a T5 I would probably suggest either 3.45 or 3.73, with a T56 I would suggest 3.9 or 4.11 (taller 6th gear) as a compromise between performance/economy.

Hey team, good old covid delayed my delivery for a while! Just received my diff/ axle set up yesterday. Planning to install this weekend, any tips, dos and donts etc to look out for?
