I run 15w40 oil in my car, have been using Shell Helix HX5 but that was only because I picked some up on special. The book recommends 20w50, but for a VY Commodore, which runs the same basic engine, I am told 10w30 is recommended so truth be told, I think as long as it's not something ridiculous like 0w20, you can run whatever and the engine will be fairly happy, what's more important is changing the oil and filter at least every 10,000 km. I do emphasise however, the book says 20w50, the fact I run 15w40 is my personal choice and I don't recommend it as such-it works for me, in my car but it may not work for you in yours.

If you mean auto gearbox, it uses Dex III ATF. Also uses Dex III for the power steering fluid as well if you're wondering. Manuals, I can't comment on as I don't have any experience with them.

Coolant is green, but 50/50 mix instead of the 33% that most other cars run. This means you can't use premixed at least as far as I am aware there is no premixed coolant suitable for Commodores, you have to mix it yourself. I personally run demineralised water, but some run tapwater, this is another one of those personal choice things. I do know some people who use el cheapo brand coolant and while nothing bad has happened in the sense of the sky falling in, it can't be good for the engine, especially if you do a lot of driving on hot days. I guess it depends on how much respect you have for the car and how long you want, or expect it to last you.

There will be a date stamp on the tank that tells you either when the tank was checked last or when it needs checking. One or the other....can't remember.
    It's every 10 years I think.
