i thought new zealand didnt have o2 sensors due to emissions that were not as strict?

    true, true and definitly true.

early second gen commodores didn't have O2 sensors in NZ because we still used leaded fuel. leaded fuel kills O2 sensors. what you need to do it fit the O2 sensor it should be a 2 wire job, the VS was the first model with the 4 wire setup from memory and then you need to get hold of the later version of the SV3800 tune to make use of the O2 sensor. the NZ tunes have the O2 sensor input disabled which is the reason your not getting any fault codes.

as for your increased fuel consumption. it could be a number of things. try the simple things first. a good service, plugs, leads, oil and filter, fuel filter and some injector cleaner and new air filter. the temp sensors you refer to is under the thermostat housing, there are 2, 1 for the ecu and 1 for the dash temp gauge. so even though the dash is showing the correct engine temp the ecu might think the eninge is still cold and keeps injecting extra fuel for a cold start-up. if your going to be changing temp sensors i recommend that you also change the thermostat at the same time, no point dumping coolant twice:thumbsup:

where about in NZ are you?

greenfoams your best bet at the mo. i would do it but my PC is having a mid life crisis and doesn't want to run the software needed to burn a tune. it's bloody weird. oneday i'll sort it. maybe i'll get motivated this week after o finish my current shift rotation. still need to get a memcal adaptor for the burner also
