process of elimination i would suggest :p
Fuel/Spark/
Can u smell fuel while you been cranking it for a while. back out a plug and check fuel.
Cant be anything to big.
Coil like u said. as well as power transistor on dizzy is working?

can smell fuel when cranking for a while

forgot to bring my spark plug socket home:bang:
going to try setting the dissy one more time, might have it on the wrong cycle, possibly everytime have set it at valves open lol

couldnt get another coil today, if anyone local has one i can borrow it would be appreciated:p

any way you can tests the capcitor or coil with out a muiltmeter?

i reckon i got a coil around somewhere, got a few motors ill have a look in a minute, im near marion but will probably be up o halleron hill way later tonight

Reckon the flames coming out the exhaust would let you know if that was happening ;)

well ive got the timing too the point it will run when you try turning it over
but
will only run for 3 seconds the splutters and dies

i think its a fuel issue, as after every time you get it to run for the 3 seconds it needs to re prime the fuel system, so its using the fuel but it wont continue the supply once running.
will only prime it


so looks like i might have to seach for some ways to test it

well afm is ruled out now, cheers abrowne70 :thumbsup:


looks to be lack of fuel supply after primed
ill try a diff fuel pump i reckon next

ill give the external pump a swap with one to see if that works before i strip the manifold to refit it

I had a lookie at ur vid man, try the plenum again if nothings happening, my car was sounding the same until i refit the whole setup again :bow:

bridge your fuel pump fuse in the fusebox so that it has constant power. you can take the hose off for a sec to see if it sprays out. bear in mind it will SPARY out.

then reconnect the hose and get your mate to crank the starter while you hold the timing light. the light will still work while it is being cranked, even if it isnt idling...

then check if your 180 out :)
