To me, it sounds like fpr, thats at the back of the engine. Is the fpr connected the right way?

Theres a little hose that comes off of the FPR and goes into the upper intake manifold, theres actually 3 hoses that all are in the same area at the rear of the plenum. The hoses are different diameters and the one that comes from the FPR can only go onto one connector. If I cant get it settled tonight then Ill contact a local mechanic to have a look. Im sure its nothing serious but what do I know.....

Where are you located ?
As it says in Australia, its a Big Country
if you indicate a particular area/suburb, some PPL of JC may wish to physically assist you.
ie: Be able to scan it for a starting point.

Thanks Krusing. I live in country Victoria. Ill have a crack tonight and if its no dice then Ill contact a local mechanic who does mobile services, saves me having to drive it. Thanks you for the heads up, Ill keep that in mind.

Search the Web for a diagrams for the hoses, I know there is a few, and most fittings have a particular size, so its shouldn't be to hard find their home/fittings, remembering the length is usualy a good indicator of where they finish.

So I got the car towed today to a local mechanic, havent heard back from them which is a bit worrying, but due to their reputation they are always very busy.

Im just wondering. I had a socket peice fall down through the manifold and into the chamber where the valve rod is. Now I pushed around in there with a screw driver trying to get this socket out. I wasnt pushing against that rod but was trying to lever the socket out as it was wedged in.

Also in an attempt to get the socket out I undid the roller rocker that was for that valve, thinking I could make the valve move....not knowing its held under tension with a spring.

I put the roller rocker back on and did it upto torque spec.

I wonder if any of these 2 issues is causing a problem? I havent had this issue with my car, apart from a new alternator its started first time everytime since 2007. As soon as I try to improve it it all goes to s***.

**UPDATE**

So I just rang the mechanic to see how things were going, they suspect its 2 injectors that are causing the issue. This makes sense to me because when I went to service the injectors by removing the baskets, the first 2 I used screw and pull method, so its possible bits of plastic fell down into the injectors clogging them. After the screw and pull method didnt work I resorted to prying the baskets out with a small tool.

So they are going to get me second hand injectors to see if that resolves the issue.

Very interested in your outcome?

So the outcome, yes. A word of advice to anyone doing DIY and watching videos online...make sure you do plenty of research ask advice.

I serviced my fuel injectors by replacing the baskets and O-rings but I did not have them cleaned before attaching them to my fuel rail, which I should have, and as a result when I started my car 3 of 6 fuel injectors were malfunctioning causing them to stay open which flooded the fuel system with petrol. The petrol then made it's way into the catalytic converter causing a potential for a fire and explosion.

I should of just left well-enough along and just replaced the LIM gaskets, but seeing as the engine was apart I thought I might as well have serviced the fuel rail. Even though I was very careful it's best to leave critical elements like this to people who know what they are doing, and not just following a DIY guide online.

So all in all its about $500+ to have the injectors replaced, fuel filter changed and just labor for diagnosing the problem. I didn't undertake this job to save money I did it because I wanted to learn about my car, but some things are best left top professionals.
