Any diff from an IRS equipped VT will be a straight swap. If you get a diff from a VX-VZ it will bolt in fine but you will need the yoke that connects to the tailshaft to be changed out with a flange.

Not a big job to have the yoke swapped for a flange, just call your nearest diff shop.

thanks for your help cashman. can you sugest anywhere to buy it from? should i go to the wreckers and get one or try my luck on ebay or gumtree?

eBay and Gumtree are your best bets but if you scour the various holden forums out there, it can only help your chances.

Try get one with 3.46 (or higher) gears if you can, gets better acceleration

The entire diff...

IMO its a professionals job to change out the centre's.

If you plan on going to the trouble of buying a centre and having it installed, just go buy a truetrac or a kaaz centre and have it assembled into your housing at a diff shop.
