Hi guys i'm halfway through the cluster conversion and have all the cluster wiring covered from conversion thread. But i have run into a problem with the switchblock The circuits for the demister and dome light circuit are different from standard vp exec - to VP trip switchblock.
Does anyone have a diagrams of the switchblock wiring?
If anyone has done a VP conversion (vn's are different) can you help sort out the wiring for the switchblock.

    Thanks in advance Pub

Yep Ive run into that problem and found a way around it too. What Idid is got a standard vn switchblock and circuit board and took it apart( you have to be careful when you take the wiper switch apart not to break the retaining clips)and took the vp l3 switcblock apart and put the vn circuitboard on to the vp l3 buttons/outer case.
But before you install the board you will have to take your 3 switch mechanisms (hazard, heated rear window and dome ) off the old l2 vp exect board and instal them on the vn one in their right positions according to the button layout on the l3 switchblock .You also have to unsolder the dimmer resistor from the vn board and alter your cars switch block plug wiring to suit the vn board but you have to do that anyway when you install the new dash.
Also with the new l3 switchblock there is no provision for the interior light delay (since the electronics are usually where the buttons for the trip are now but I remotely mounted the electronics and teed off the plug wires to it to get that working.
If you are keen I have a few diagrams to help as well as a spare vn board already modified and a delay board mounted in a jiffy box spare that I made up for someone and they didnt go throught with it.If you break the wiper switch too if you pull it apart I have also installed a vr/s lefthand stalk on my vp that does the job of the switcblock wiper switch and it is much better idea anyway so there is that option too.
Something is wrong on this site still with attachments so if you want I could email the diagrams of the install to you if you want.

Ok cool thats sounds ok can you email me some diagrams so i can have a look at it. On Vp is the light delay controlled by bcm ? I'm also think that the demister is aswell as the switches are different to the exec. Can you email those details and how much you want for them switches.
    Cheers Pub

Also what do you think about using a vr/vs trip switches on it? would they work the same if I just used them for the controls?
ATM i think i'll keep my original switchblock and just hook up the level 3 one just so i can cycle through modes. Will the level3 one need a power and earth circuit if i hook it up that way?

vps at exect level dont have bcms just the statos and optioned up luxury models...vrs were the first car with a bcm standard..yep the switches for the trip are just switches nothing special so you could use vr/s ones but making them look any good installed would be a challenge
With the bcm on vp statos etc the heated rear window is controlled by the high level bcm thats why the switch to worl it on the switchblock is a momentary action not a push on push off like the exects
