I didn't cut into my dash or wires.
Das simply took out & replaced with a wh statesman caprice. I, then cut into the cetr piece & plastic welded it.
No, l dont know how to weplastic weld or paint. I just try. It doesn't have to be perfect. It only has look better than what it was.

I didn't cut into any wires. The previous owner did that. Anyway you can buy wiring kits that are plug & play.
Though l have never bought any myself.
