Well finally got around to putting 4 new rotors and pads on today. Went for a drive to bed them all in, but i had to come to a complete stop at an intersection, so i slowed down, stuck in neutral and rolled up to the intersection, making a complete stop withour braking, when it was clear for me to go, i stuck it into drive and went to go. When THUMP, it just made the loudesnt thumb noise, and all the doors locked lol. It had a pretty bad smell after that for a short time, seems to be fine now, but would their be any reason why its done that, i know it sometimes takes a while to engage and has a thumb if you put your foot down to much before its engaged, but my foot was barely down. Also thanks to everyones advice in the brake thread, Brakes now perfect, pulls up in no time, going to have to go easy on the pedal now or someone will run up the back of me lol, i cant believe how good they pull up, and no shudder :w00t:
Your car does not like you stopping it without brakes!!! Your car knows best, just listen to it LOL....
Nah i used the brakes to stop, till about 10k's then stuck her in neautral and rolled, seen i was clear to go, stuck it in drive, was at a complete stop when it went into drive, went to take off and she thumped, i wasnt engine braking or anything.
nah, with the stock pressure of the 4l60e it wont engage drive from neutral in a flash. the thump would of been slightly worn uni joints, or if it wasnt quite as loud just normal slack in the tailshaft. the locking of the doors is a standard feature on some holdens, they do it sometime when you slam the doors shut
