Any car that has ABS requires wheel speed sensors on all four wheels.

Whether its traction or stability control, front wheel sensors are required to give a reference as to what the rear wheels are doing.

i think traction control does sense the 4 wheels but it's different from ESC

anyway 29 psi is what holden recommends 38 is too way much and, you should of gotten the wheels balanced would of fixed your problem

Gotta love people that have no idea on the topic at hand offering advice.

Completley agreed with you re:ABS sensors on all 4 wheels - where/when the brakes are applied very hard and wheels stops rotating the sensor sends a signal to release/interupt the flow of oil to/from the callipars and so the familiar ABS chirpping happens.

I didn't think that was the TC sensor as well, but hey... What do I know.... I'm no mechanic or Automotive Engineer.

Way to contradict yourself, the only 18" rim I see on your outdated picture says 230kpa which equates to 33.5 psi, not 29. Note this is COLD inflation temp and this will increase several psi at running temp. Most people dont arrive at the servo with cold tyres now do they.

Manuals arent always accurate and you wont find a tyre manufacturer that recommends running 29psi in low profile tyres, I wouldnt even recommend it in any tyre.

No you said 38 was too much for his 18s

i think traction control does sense the 4 wheels but it's different from ESC

All tyres are different so it only makes sense to consult the tyre manufacturer not the 10 year old manual...

Do I get a medal?

If not this was a complete waste of time on my part.

36-38 has always always been fine on low profile tyres

it makes the ride a bit firmer but you get better fuel econ and handling

i'd never run under 30 on any car

recommendations are for normal non performance driving folk who want ride quality over everything else
