I am looking at repalcing my aerial mast on a VT Calais as it is broken. Prices for a new one range from $90 from a holden dealer to $29 from super cheap autos. Is their really any difference, and if so is it worth $60? Also I would like to fit it myself, is it hard? Does anyone have any instructions on how to?
Thanks

I'm guessing you have an electric aerial ,yes ?
If so you can buy replacement masts from Autobarn , Supercheap or any Holden dealer

take wheel off remover iner panel (plastic one) remove antena
undo screw holding in ant mast pull out ant rplace with new on , put screw back on refit
now for the fun bit if your ant mast rope has brocken inside youll need to pull apart ant to remove old rope(good fun but not that hard)
then get someone to turn radio on/off while you feed new rope down inside ant b4 ya replace screw that holds it in
or pay 45-60 bux at most car audio shops to do it for you
new rope/mast ant is about 20-30 bux from strathfeilds autobahn and so on
motor traders is also cheeper than holdens
hope this helps
