I have just installed a new (S/h) lvl 3 dash cluster in my SI VS Calais - and find that cruise control will not work.

Switch it on and the green light comes on, but go to set it and the orange light stays on only as I hold the button in.

Searched the forum and people talking about relays/fuses/stalk switch/brake switch etc not applicable as cruise control works perfectly when old cluster put back in.

I'm thinking maybe something to do with the speed sensor (is this a function of the dash?) as the switch acts the same as it does when you are driving under 40k regardless of speed.

Any suggestions? I purchased the cluster from ebay "in good condition" !

**ebay seller has offered to send out another - but it would be good if I could get this fixed over the weekend and save him the trouble**

    Cheers

It will be the signal wire going to the wrong spot. Have a look at the back of the 2 clusters - the pin out is mapped in 3 blocks. Find the CC number on each. Then you will need to pull the plug out and change the pin to the correct one (make it the same as you old cluster)

    Hope that helps a little.

Else just put the new gauges and trip computer into your cluster.

Thanks for the reply - I have thoroughly examined the markings on the back - and both cluster pin outs are identical. I can find no differences.

My old cluster has a sticky fuel guage (needs a whack on the dash to display other than flat empty) same with temp guage. The biggest problem is that the trip computer thinks it is set for 80L tank - despite the selector switch being set for 60L. Not big problems - but had hoped the new cluster would fix.

As for pulling guages out and swapping them around - I don't mind pulling one apart - and trying to fix it - but not game to pull them both apart at the same time - I'll prolly stuff 'em both!

its not hard to pull them apart. just dont swivel the speedo/tacho needles as this may stuff them.
