2006 holden ssz 5.7
Hey everyone, new to this forum.
No doubt this has been asked a million times so apologies in advance, I currently own a 2006 holden ssz 5.7, at factory as I'm certain you all are aware doesn't have the most ideal v8 note, I'm looking at spending around 1k for a half decent rumble, any suggestions or recommendations would be huge, cheers

Not sure on prices, but twin 2.5" equal length into hooker aerochamber and out a single 3" sounds awesome on my 5.8ltr
Extractors help the sound too.

Extractors, cats, exhaust will help a little but otr/tune will get it to sound really good especially if you ask tuner to give it a little lump at idle lol

Check out recent Manta review on VZ forum. May be of interest.

that budget won't go far, i did a $900 system a few years back on my VXII 5.7 Clubsport. it was a custom 2.5" with high flow cats. was decent enough but with proper extractors like i did for my Monaro along with J-Pipes the difference was quite a bit better but obviously the $$$ added up. The stock headers on your SSZ will probably suck too, just the way it is when your budget is lower.

end of the day unless it's used and cheap you need to temper your expectations and don't go stupid with some cheap nasty 3" drone machine. you'll end up hating it.

around your budget i would just go a 2.5" catback.

Gut the cat, 3 inch cat back is about all you can do with your budget

Next a Decent set of extractors, tune and k&n filter would go great with it

Considering the op hasn't been on here since his initial post nearly 2 years ago, I seriously doubt they would take notice of your post...Combine that with if the sounds required haven't been achieved after that length of time, one has to wonder
