    Does anyone plan on buying it? Or have you been let down by their last few efforts?

    I intend on buying it. I won't go so far as to say I am a huge Metallica fan, but I have all their albums (except live shit) and kinda want to keep it that way. St. Anger was underrated.. I still haven't sat down and had a decent listen to it myself! But still, it had its good moments.

    You can find some of the new songs on YouTube. From what I have heard it seems to be a return to the Justice days which could lead to a killer album.

    I will post up my thoughts and criticsisms as soon as i buy it :)

    yeah i have the new album and find its a bit softer than some of the old stuff but i still like it.

    From what I have heard, James voice is a hell of alot different. He seems to mature with every album. When Kill Em All and Ride were recorded he still sounded like an angry teenager. As the albums progressed so did his voice. Justice was a major change and the new album is yet another major change.

    LOL i don't personally know anyone around my age group who "buys" music hehe.
    Personally think they went downhill after black. Lightning and Justice my fav's, but will give it a go of course.

    i've been listning to this album for tha past couple of days, not too bad...... some good songs, and there all decent length

    how did i get it early?
    some1 at my uni must have downloaded it and left it on the computer i was on :D

    no lars will. ive got it on my computer. i think its good. got a nice sound to it similar to the old albums. unforgiven 3 has an odd intro to it, but still a good song

    I am a huge OLD Metallica fan, but i haven't thought much of any albums past "Re-load". I don't hate St Anger or this new album (which i have listed to most of as i downloaded it), but i don't really think much of them either.

    Any attempt to make their new albums sound like Justice / Master / Black etc, would be a futile and weak attempt to win back alot of their, now lost, fans and just wouldn't work in my opinion.

    Plus their new bass player is a complete pole polisher. He jumps around on-stage like he came fresh out of Soulfly or Slipknot. It sucks that Jason Newstead left. And It sucks that Cliff Burton died too.

    After "Re-load", i stopped actually BUYING their albums after i heard the track "St.Anger", and just downloaded them against their wishes :D

    I have ALL their albums (Re-load and pre) on original copys. LONG LIVE OLD SKOOL METALLICA ALBUMS!! I am more excited about AC/DC's new album coming out on October 18th :yeah:

    I will get it purely because its a Metallica album. I have them all and im a fan of thiers so i will definallty get it.

    From what ive heard so far it ****s all over St Anger (which honeslty isnt hard to do).

    Me too..... Heard Metallica's new album, wouldnt say its better or worse then St Anger, but to me a few songs sound like bad karaoke. Not a huge fan of it.

    heard the album few weeks ago and not happy..
    best album they released in 10years tho i recon..
    really changed after cliff died as he wrote most of the good albums,
    or some riffs to it before he passed away.
