Heya, I need a new radiator for my 253, and have been quoted $470ish by the two local shops.

Can anyone tell me whether something from a later V8, VC-VL will fit for example?

I wanna go new, I want to it right first time not muck about and risk further damage as I need to tow a trailer with it in a few weeks time.

    Cheers,
    B.

GO to Erina radiators ph: (02) 4367 7898 they are at 245 The Entrance Rd
Erina NSW 2250. They did the radiator for my VK.
Ask them for a price on a recore rather then a complete new radiator, much cheaper and just as good. pretty sure VB-VL is the same. Tell them you want a 3 core radiator, 2 core copper/lead wont be enough & you wont see the benefit out of a 4 core.
If money permitted me I would go for a PWR alloy but i have more important things to throw money at.
Otherwise is you want secondhand try Best Price auto wreakers at Tuggerah/Wyong tell them the guys int he hot rod club sent you for a discount.

If you need a donor radiator for a recore I may have an old radiator you can use for a donor for a recore.

    cheers
    Scott

Thanks mate, I'll give 'em a call and see if they can take a look at it, neither of the other guys who I've taken it too have really been willing to take a proper look at it, so hopefully these guys might.

I'd certainly prefer not to buy a complete newy, but want it done right so will see what they have to say :)

Thanks for the tip on the wreckers, I'd not come across these guys before and will give 'em a call and see if they anything secondhand that might do the job too.

    cheers,
    B.

I would prefer to buy from a local company that I know used quality replacement cores, buy one off ebay you risk buying something made with low grade materials.

    cheers
