Heya, I need a new radiator for my 253, and have been quoted $470ish by the two local shops. Can anyone tell me whether something from a later V8, VC-VL will fit for example? I wanna go new, I want to it right first time not muck about and risk further damage as I need to tow a trailer with it in a few weeks time. Cheers, B.
GO to Erina radiators ph: (02) 4367 7898 they are at 245 The Entrance Rd Erina NSW 2250. They did the radiator for my VK. Ask them for a price on a recore rather then a complete new radiator, much cheaper and just as good. pretty sure VB-VL is the same. Tell them you want a 3 core radiator, 2 core copper/lead wont be enough & you wont see the benefit out of a 4 core. If money permitted me I would go for a PWR alloy but i have more important things to throw money at. Otherwise is you want secondhand try Best Price auto wreakers at Tuggerah/Wyong tell them the guys int he hot rod club sent you for a discount. If you need a donor radiator for a recore I may have an old radiator you can use for a donor for a recore. cheers Scott
Cheers Scott Thanks mate, I'll give 'em a call and see if they can take a look at it, neither of the other guys who I've taken it too have really been willing to take a proper look at it, so hopefully these guys might. I'd certainly prefer not to buy a complete newy, but want it done right so will see what they have to say Thanks for the tip on the wreckers, I'd not come across these guys before and will give 'em a call and see if they anything secondhand that might do the job too. cheers, B.

I would prefer to buy from a local company that I know used quality replacement cores, buy one off ebay you risk buying something made with low grade materials. cheers Scott
