just curious but is there any reason you want 12.9? i would have thought 8.8 would have been fine

Because the difference is about 20 cents. Why get weaker bolt when you can get stronger bolts for basically the same price?

why use grade 8 bolts when you can get 12.9.....

Many years ago there was a guy at a car show who had the clutch plate separate from the flywheel at 7000rpm+ bolts shared straight off. He was wondering why when he had used brand new grade 8.8 bolts, they are high tensile aren't they? he said.

Personally, i think he got what he deserved (it was a RX7).

Bet that made a nice noise.

Rocker bolts are one of the things you don't want to cheap out on.

I have just replaced two valve stem seals ($2.12+ each) and purchased the rocker bolts from a bolt and fastner joint. The bolts you need are 5/16 unc allen key head 2" long in either 8.8 or 12.9. I chose 12.9 as it was only 30cents more per bolt.
