Hi all, Well after all the dramas I had with my other car (the 2007 SSV) I've got out of it into a brand new built M12 Series2 SV6 sedan. Picked it up at lunch time today. Very nice to drive and the SV6 now has the SS seats which is also nice. The interior is Onyx Cloth as I didn't want to have leather this time round. Has reverse sensors and reverse camera (which works very nicely too) Here is a couple of pics taken while back at work in my secure parking spot....
How does it feel stepping into the SV6 from the SSV? Plans for the SV6? And please a quick rehash on why you got out of the SSV? Do you still have it or was it traded in?
It feels nice silky smooth. Dropping 2 cylinders isnt that big of a deal. The new LFX SIDI engines have some poke to them. Was very impressed. At this stage I am putting my AFM Quad tip mufflers on it (for looks only). You can read the saga in the following threads on my old car if you like. http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...9970-afm-l76-lifter-rattle-when-cold-wtf.html http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/ve-holden-commodore-2006/177532-urgent-advice-need-l77.html It was basically unreliable and seemed to spend more time in the workshop than me enjoying driving it. I traded it in on the SV6. --------------------------------------- Thanks VS_Pete for the comments. Cheers Phil
That's a shame to hear about the SSV but congratulations on your new purchase, looks fantastic, a couple shots of the interior would be good
hay guys new to the forum and dnt realy no how to contact people or ask question and i cum axcross ur forum and was wondering if i could ask some questions about my new ute i got??
Nice Hexem...they are indeed a nice drive...add a few things like a 3.7 diff, E85 tune and coming very soon a set of cams and there will be bugger all difference between a stock 8 and the V6. As you say they are smooth as and lovely progressive power. Will be interesting to see if there will be any point in developing a different engine pipe for the LFX. Congrats on your purchase.
Thanks guys for the comments. Here are some more photos I took today with the iPone. For some reason there are some little white dots on a couple of the interior shots. I think I had some crap on the camera lense....
WOW! congratulations with your new car! Now you can tell us the feeling and sensation of the new lfx engine. jealous
nice one, people under estimate the power of the sidi's, sure i would love a v8 but the v6 is good enough for me.
Well I had the windows tinted on Friday afternoon. They used the new cabon film, which has a slight copper tinge to the tint when looking out from inside the car. Here are some pics
What I didn't like about the new tint work is the new way of putting the tint on the back window. According to the tinter they don't take the tint right to the top of the window where the roof lining is. Because of the dot-matrix, the tint wont stick to it. I have own several cars (VT, VX, VY and now VE) which all had that heavy dot-matrix at the top and the tint went right over it and never came off, bubbled or otherwise. I asked the tinter if he would redo it and he said that the tint will peel off taking it right to the top. Also taking the tint of will more than likely damage the demister bars as he said the VE's are prone to it.... Check out this photo of the back window and where the tint is cut off at... look horrible, them misses wasn't happy with it either and said to get it done properly.
hmmm... utes don't have the pattern as bad as the sedans but the tint stuck fine to mine. Also fine around the patterning on the quarter glass.
