The true Aussies that were holdens bread and butter. So they turn their back on em and dish up **** that no one wants

Perhaps you get your head out your butt.....Fact is, Aussies have changed what they want from a car....That's why SUV's, FWD's, 4WD's and AWD's are so popular.....Holden delivered an AWD Commodore, which is what the market place is wanting, but somewhere down the line, they failed with the execution.....

So before you keep your rant going, look at the market place and then you will see this is what the market place is demanding

No bullshit about it....The market place dictates what the manufacturers build, hence what is getting around the roads these days.

Then again, you probably can't see it, for all the oil smoke your crud boxes are blowing

I think Tuckerbag means that Holden stopped making the cars that people such as himself (and me amongst a few) wanted. And even more so, in Australia.
Could also take this to mean that most Australian buyers wanted something else that Holden wasn't making in the last few years. This has features such as lots of cup holders, pretend 4WD/AWD stying and a pretense to have green credentials. Bless them.

I agree ……… Holden did not make the vehicles that we wanted to buy.
Or, more to the point GM HQ would not let Holden build the vehicles cars that they wanted to.
What happened to the AWD platform, the Nullabor SUV, the VE Monaro/Camaro and VE Crewman/GMC double cab ute, the 2004 Torana, the 2000 ECOmmodore, the El Camino ute...… ?
We all know that they didn't happen, and it is/was the bean counters, US unions and HQ decisions made in the early 2000s that eventually became reality in about 2009, and confirmed in 2013.
Take the Lion off the ZB, sell it as something else, and it would be a great car for those buying soulless, homogenised transport competing against Volvo, Skoda, SEAT, Alfa, Renault, Mahindra, MG, Geely, and whatever else is being dumped on our wharves.
I still can't get my head around the statement by Bob Lutz, that "Holden is the jewel in the GM crown", and then, from that to a closed factory and a shell company selling the dregs of what little is offered.
Australians are stupid ……… we just let multi-nationals walk all over us, and do what they like, and we say "'She'll be right. It will be OK on the day !"

Even if Holden did make the car people wanted would they sell enough for manufacturing it here to be viable anyway??
25000 Commodores a year wasn't enough.
And according to 2018 annual sales figures the top selling model SUVs only sold 25000 to 30000. So best case scenario, even if Holden had the #1 selling SUV, they'd be selling not many more than what they were selling Commodores anyway.
Theres just too much variety and choice of models for any 1 model to make manufacturing here viable.
They'd have to make multiple models........

^^^ and why could they not make multiple models and export them for sale overseas ?
Forget the hoo haa about the value of the $AUD, the cost of wages etc ……….. most of that is hype, perpetuated misunderstanding and myth.
Both Holden and Ford were hamstrung by restrictions imposed by the home companies in the US. Read how Geoff Polites got the Territory greenlighted for Ford Aus. He baffled Ford US with bullshit. At that time, the Territory was ahead of the SUV game, and could have been sold in LHD, if it had been allowed to be designed that way.
It is only now that large RWDs Merc, BMW, Jag are looking at electric and smaller engines (to help save the planet). Both Ford Aus and Holden could have been with them if they had grown an export base and reputation 20 years ago.
As I wrote, Australians are stupid, because we are clever enough to do things right, then stupidly chuck it all away.

@kos, you're a QLDer. Adding 'hey' to the end of a sentence is a QLD expression, you probably just don't notice. ;)
