    While I agree it's dated, it's only 6 years old :p

Kind of removes any need for the XR6T when for $1500 you can get all the G6E goodies minus LSD of course, unless that is getting an update to include an LSD.

Meh I've never been one to worry about the interior.

Also, the pic posted of the interior is the Territory - Not the new FGX.

FGX is basically unchanged from FG2 - just has a a new button on the steering wheel and some trim highlights.

Yes Control Blade was used on Mondeo/Fusion, and adapted for the Falcon, as the AU IRS was too expensive. Then Ford decided it was Control Blunder and trialled Integral Link IRS on the Mondeo. That impressed them enough to stick it in the new Mustang and Jaguar.
The Virtual Pivot front suspension on the Territory/Falcon, on the other hand is really good. So if Ford had persisted with the AU IRS until the BF, they might have had a great car.

That new FG looks like what it is - an attempt by the Ford heavies saying "This is the end of the line, so lets not care too much about it. Just make it look a bit more like what else we have in the lineup, so that it feels like a smoother transition for that mob down under. Don't go to too much effort, and don't worry about the possibility of damaging any legacy…"

I'm no Ford person (bloody far from it), but it looks half arsed almost bordering on insulting. IMO, they should have left the exterior alone and spent any remaining money on interior.

It does make one appreciate the VF even more.

I'd be a little bit ticked off if I were a Ford die hard.

They've already announced the Mustangs arrival in 2016.
And will be cheaper than equivalent falcon.
So no use flogging a dead horse,so to speak.

The front of the falcon looks awesome to me. The rear is ok as well
Interior does look dated though. Like Comparing a VE with a VF.
For me the interior is important, I like the latest mod cons, I am sitting inside the car after all. (all relative- sitting inside a 1975 hj a different level of cool)
Hope the last falcon sells well, for the punters and to thumb the nose to the mob keen to see the end of aussie made cars.
Love live aussie made whatever breed.

i agree with this to a point.
but their coyote 5.0 is a great engine.

mustang will do well in its market, as will our camaro but its the ute/ v8 sedan market which will be left hanging for something which isnt vanilla with sprinkles on top.

When the Commodore and Falcon are just memories and our only choice in a muscle car has 2 doors and a made in the USA sticker, could there be a contender for our hard earned $. If you cannot afford a C or E 63 AMG, would you consider a 4 door coupe style vehicle with 4 doors, rear wheel drive, lots of luxury, auto only, (8 speed) but with
420hp V8? The 6cyl version is coming for sure. Maybe we can convince Hyundai to send us the bent 8?????LOL Any takers???? Hyundai Genesis V8 Supercar??
OMG if I have to have a 2 door muscle car from the US...........Dodge please send me a Challenger Hellcat!

I think they're coming around this time next year and I hope to god they are around the same price as the Falcon or cheaper. Ford are saying pricing will be between $40k-$70K.

While the new XR8 may have a supercharger engine the VF is the better car. Who uses all of the power all of the time anyrate.

Well sadly my VE SSV was rear ended and may be written off. New XR8 or VF SSV Redline?

The Ford has the better engine, the Holden has the better chassis and styling imo. If your going the manual they both use the same 6060 box and the autos are pretty evenly matched now. Personally i prefer the nicer styling and chassis but that coyote engine is a gem so a testdrive in both would decide it for me.

Yea ive driven a Redline, very nice. Ill give the Falcoon a good drive to compare. The car will be a lease so I don't wish to modify much. I might suss out the Ford forum to see what can be done to improve the suspension and handling
