gday guys, i have a vn and im replacing the injectors. can i put newer model injectors from a vt or vx or something? or does this not work? what happens if i do?
you can replace them but your up for some cash to do it, and this won't gain power either you can go up to VS V6 injectors but remember changing to a larger/more flowing injector will use more fuel and it might need to have the ECU looked at? I would have my injectors cleaned/ sonic tested/ flow tested and only replace which ones are starting to fail VN V6 UPTO 10/90 0 280 150 901 (EV1) 19.35 LB/HR 198 CC/MIN 146.28 G/MIN 14.5 Ohm 3.0bar OP VN, VP, VR V6 FROM 11/90 0 280 150 960 (EV1) 19.92 LB/HR 204 CC/MIN 150.58 G/MIN 14.5 Ohm 3.0bar OP VS V6 0 280 150 973 (EV1) 20.21 LB/HR 207 CC/MIN 152.8 G/MIN 12 Ohm 3.0bar OP
I just fitted these injectors, in the link below, to my ecotec, but they fit the earlier V6 too.I called around to a few different EFI places in my area and they said it was gonna cost me around $150 to have my old injectors overhauled.I asked these places about these new ones in the link below, and a couple of places said that even after the old injectors are cleaned and rebuilt, they will never flow as good as new ones will, and recommended I go with the new ones on ebay,so thats what I did. They took 2 days to get to me by mail, they came fitted with new o-rings,and I couldnt be happier with the results I got.The car starts and runs heaps better now.It starts instantly now instead of winding over a couple of times first before firing up..Its also better on fuel now too Ive noticed. ---COMMODORE NEW FUEL INJECTORS VN VP VR VS VT VX VY SAVE | eBay---
I did the same got these new injectors car fires up straight away it feels like it has more power and it runs like my GTS-R now
Yep,they are well worth it.The only thing is they probably wont last as long as bosch brand injectors, but so what,I get 5 years out of them instead of 10.By the time 5 years is up,they will probably be dirty and will need renewing again anyway,so it doesnt really matter ....I was in a mates car the other week after he had fitted reco injectors he bought from ebay,I couldnt even notice any difference between the old ones and the new ones and how it ran, it still wouldnt even start up instantly like mine does now..he should have spent the extra $50 and got these brand new ones.I tried to tell him,he wouldnt listen, and now hes spewin.Ah well, some people just cant be told..
there’s a seller on ebay called injectorco he sells vn and other commodore reconditioned injectors for about $99 and if you send your old ones back he gives you $15 and reimburses for postage. its not bad... me and a friend have bought them and had no porblems found them: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Remanufa...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3368b10504
Yeah, but as I said in my above post,a couple of the EFI places I went to see to get some info about all this injector stuff, said that even when old injectors have been fully reco'd,they will never flow as good as brand new ones..all they do is get them flowing as close as possible to one another(usually within 1 or 2 percent of eachother), and for an extra $50,the brand new ones are well worth it.I didnt know what to expect when I bought them,as I usually wont go near cheapo parts, but at $700 for genuine brand new VS injectors, theres no way Im gonna pay that much, and Im more than happy with these "cheapies" so far.
gotta make sure they are hte same number injector, i used sum outta a VN for my VP different numbers. Took it for a dyno one day, guy notified me that i was running a bit on the lean side and that need a retune to change the pulse to make them run properly. Took em out, got new onse same numbers as orig, went back and was sweet as and gain 14hp off previous dyno
Thats probably for genuine injectors. These cheapie ones will fit VN through to VY V6's.Ive got a VS and as Ive already said, they run excellent in it,I cant say how they run in the earlier models, but Id say they would run just as good in the earlier V6's as they do in the VS ecotec 6..
Yeah, its slightly better on fuel now when just cruising around town.I cant say how much difference there is out on the highway yet as I havent really travelled anywhere since Ive fitted them, but Id say it would have to be better on the highway too,and I was already getting pretty good milage with the old injectors.I only use 98 octane fuel too which helps a good deal with getting good fuel economy out of these cars.
