just picked this up this evening. VN exec V6 s1 with T5 box. it's lowered on what looks like super lows. unforunatly it's a wreck cause it was lost backwards/sideways into a power pole. ok for $700 i guess.

this is the start of the project. now i have an engine and driveline to go into a nice and light VK maybe. if i can find a decent ecotec then i'll bolt the trans to that instead. it's got an LSD to put it single pegged when i gave it some stick

for all those NZ members in the auckland area, if there are parts your after PM me. most bits avail except the engine/driveline/ecu & loom etc. there is also a clubsport front bar on it that i'll be happy to sell

sounds good immortality, I've always been a fan of vh-vk's. I've owned 3 VK's and 1 VH and i like my vp but i love the vh-vk body shape. Last couple of months i've been thinking of getting another one and putting a v6 in it. Are you going to do a s2 top end transfer should make it a bit better for a transplant into older model.

not sure i get what you mean unless your talking about making it more compatible with the cooling system setup? eventually i'd like to go to a ecotec but geting it running with the buick will be the first goal. need to find a good VK body first now. preferably a four banger, that way i know the chassis hasn't been stressed to much.

unfortunatly the missus isn't to happy about me having a wreck sitting in the driveway. there is another 1990 VN 5 speed that i cna get my hands on for another $600 but i don't think that will fly with her. maybe i strip this one fast for the bits i want and dump the body, then, sell some bits to get some cash together for the other one, that way i have at least on spare T5 box to play with. the previous owner said it has a brand new clutch and a recently fitted new power steering pump so that's all sweet

yeah cooling system was what i was talking about. Did you get many 85 model vk there? i was thinking that one would be better for the bw diff.

a few, would like a VK1/2 if possible. thought i'd end up using a VL diff so that i can have 28 spline shafts and maybe run a minispool, cheap, easy to install and fun:whistling

not sure whats been done to the motor but i just pulled the memcal out and it's definitly been tuned for something? the sticker has V6 + 6 written on it. not sure what it means. will have to get my willem burner working so that i can read it. i'm currently having a software conflict with the Eprom51 software that came with it. it loads ok, but as soon as i go to diagnose harware the program crashes. the burner plugs in a the diodes work etc. the software crashes wether or not the burner is plugged in so i'm sure it's a software issue. thinking i might have to re-install XP to get it working as i'm having a few other software issues also.

going to get some degreaser on the weekend and give the engine a good clean so i can see whats been touched. i may lift a rocker cover off and put a dial gauge on the lifter to see if the cam has been changed

just pulled the intake and pod filter off. it has a 65mm V8 TB fitted thats already been modified to make sure it opens 100% although instead of altering the cast stop on the TB they have modified the steel bracket instead. someone has definitly done some work on this .....

I cant tell you for a fact a Buick 6 into a VH rocks. Theres a guy who used to come on our cruises in Victoria who had a old rusty VH wagon, we thought nothing of it. Till he came flying up our arses one night, opened the bonet and there was a VN v6. From what you also say there has been some work done so putting it into a light shell will definalty go a treat.

Whats with the gay bonet scoop looking thing haha? The paintwork looks mint, shame its totalled. Good find for under a grand, you could resell the manaul conversion for more than that. Good find.

pulled the TB off this arvo, where ever they got it from it was marked as S.V. so i can assume it came from an SV model. pitty, thats one less SV on the roads.

had a quick go with a dial guage this arvo also but battling against hydraulic lifters it was a total waste of time. will have to remove a rocker and measure lobe lift to see what cam is fitted.

what ever they have done it definitly sounds good for a V6, at the mo it only has a single muffler with the pipe dumped after the diff (had to remove rear muffler after the boot was crushed - exhaust mount was damaged). it's a 2.5" system but with the factory tubular exhaust type manifolds
