Welcome to the Just Commodores Newsletter
Issue 1, 7th August 2004

As you all know, we have not long changed to the new site layout, and from feedback we have received, it has been popular with most if not all members.

Recently we have seen the addition to a new section to the forum covering part numbers for that beloved Commodore, it can be located here

Any post made in this particular forum will require moderator or administration approval before being shown as we have a set layout we wish to keep intact to keep things all organized. Any post is more than welcome so come on guys and girls, get those fingers typing and add your 2 cents worth.

This month’s most replied to thread is the ‘Pic’s of your car’ thread, it can be located here

From 1st July – 20th July, we have seen 551 new member’s sign up to Just Commodores which is incredible given it has only been in existence for just over 12 months, with August 5th being the record of 54 new members which as you could imagine we are just ecstatic.

Welcome to all new members, and a big hello to all old members.

As you are all aware, we have a technical section on the forum which has been growing since it was first put into place. This is where you will find specific Commodore Information such as Engine Specifications, Colors and Fault codes. This can be viewed here

We have added 2 more new threads recently covering the IAC valve, the V6 ECU Pin Number’s and Cable Color’s for ECU Connection.

Remember the forum above is read only to members meaning no replies are permitted, should you wish to discuss our reasoning behind this please let us know or alternatively if something is incorrect let us know also.

We recently saw the demise of www.vncommodore.com which was a great inspiration for Just Commodores, Darren who was a regular poster on the site until Just Commodores required much more work than originally thought had to take priority.

From all of us we wish Greg all the best as it is a real shame to see such a good site leave us.

Just to reassure you all we certainly have no intentions of doing anything similar. Our current host www.deepbluehosting.com has been fantastic right from the word go with cheap and reliable web hosting which we can’t be asking for anything more.

Just Commodores is financially sound and has more allocation of bandwidth than some of the bigger and to some degree more established web sites.

We are here to stay and look forward to bringing you the latest Holden information as it comes to hand for many years to come and helping all you fellow Commodore enthusiasts along the way.

Now for something a little more serious. Last month as some of you maybe aware we had a blatant copyright infringement of information thieved from Just Commodores. Both Garth and Darren have since taken action where the administrator of the other site was very reasonable who shall be nameless. We would hate to be stuck in this situation ourselves so now would be the perfect time to reiterate our stance on copyrighted information or someone else’s work. Whilst we are all here to share our wealth of knowledge there is nothing wrong with copying/pasting as long as the source (where it originated) is clearly marked somewhere in the post. This means naming the forum/site it was taken from along with the original poster if applicable.

If you are caught taking such information from this site and placing it elsewhere without prior approval from either the administrators / moderators or the rightful owner we will remove your membership without thinking twice and depending on the circumstances we may take it further through other avenues.

Enough of the harsh words, keep up the great work guys, this is the first newsletter for Just Commodores with one per month all going to plan.

If you would like to see something specific added to this newsletter, email [email protected] and we’ll see how we go squeezing it in.

Here are a few ideas we which are working on implementing in the very near future
• A monthly car review. I.e. make, model, engine spec’s etc.
• Member’s ride review, we’ll choose two members cars at random each month and do a review.

That’s about it for now, until next month keep those posts coming!
