Welcome to the Just Commodores Newsletter
Issue 2 / 3, 2nd October 2004

Finally issue number 2 is here! I hear you all say, yippee, sorry for the delay and the skipping of last months, it’s been a busy time for the Just Commodore Administration Team both Admin and Moderators alike so this newsletter will be included as issues number 2 and 3.

Firstly let us welcome all the new member’s and a hello to the old member’s of Just Commodores. The site is growing so fast at the moment it’s very hard to keep up with everything which we certainly aren’t going to complain about so let’s keep up the good work guy’s and keep it rolling in the right direction.

Exciting times are ahead with a .com.au domain for Just Commodores right around the corner with a whole lot more as time progresses.

At the moment Darren is trying to secure sponsorship for Just Commodores which is coming along rather nicely other than some code wishing to test his patience to no end actually more a case of not being able to get the banners to behave like they should but this is looking at being completed within the next few weeks or month so keep your eyes glued to the site for future progress on that front. We are always on the lookout for new ways to promote the site or make your visit more enjoyable so any feedback whatsoever is always welcome whether is being negative or positive. Whilst we endeavour to reply to all the emails we receive, at times this can be quite challenging so if you don’t get a reply don’t take it personally but we can guarantee we have read your email.

The last few month’s we have seen another addition the JC Forums called Commodore-How-To’s and if you click on this link right here or copy the link into your browser address bar it will take you there. At present it’s relatively small but we are looking at expanding it as much as possible, we must also thank the following members for their contributions jafo, jetspin_vl, Julie and vipervp. This is open to all validated members, if you change the IAC valve on your VP for example then why not putting something together in step by step form and put it up on the site.

With more happenings we are glad to bring you a Just Commodores member special. For a base cost of $170 (V6 w/CAI and exhaust) you can get your ECU (Memcal) re-flashed to any specifications you want, there are many different variants available, if you are interested or would like more information simply send through an email to [email protected].

Our ‘Resident Joker’ Salem has come up with a good idea, he has suggested that people take different photos of engine parts, label them and put them into their respective forum title. This idea we will be implementing very soon and will be useful for those who aren’t familiar with what’s under that bonnet on the Commodore.

Now for something a little more serious. You may have noticed recently an announcement by Baldric, I suggest that each member has a quick read and understand what has been put in place as this is very important for the sites daily running and you as a member. How did these come about I hear you ask, cutting a long story short it was getting out of control in the forum with a lot of in-house bitching about anything and everything which most of the time was simply uncalled for. This is quite simple really, a lot of which is contained within the announcement is commonsense, there are to be no excuses for not having read it. For whatever reason you find yourself in the firing line so to speak you really have yourself to blame and no one else. Right from the start we have been rather relaxed with the rules and let a lot of stuff past us but it’s come to a point where we had to set some ground rules in order to keep everything in order.

The boy’s from Southeast Queensland had a cruise during August and it was a good little turnout as it usually tends to be. We look forward and will be holding more cruises in the very near future, so if any of you are located in the Southeast and have any ideas at all put them forward to either myself (Garth) or Kurt (aka Gobbles) as we are the guys that have organised them so far.

Again this month by a long shot the most read and most posts in a single thread is the ‘Pics of your Car’ thread which can be found here
