Yep, I was just thinking the same thing. I have also noticed that threatened strike action by the unions has also increased substantially since the governments election. Although its happening under Labor state governments, the unions are emboldened by the fact that their ACTU masters are in power now in Canberra.
The banks put up intrest rates to prop up the profit and loss sheet. The cost of cash has gone up heaps over the past 2 years as world liquidity dries up. The yanks wont admit to being in a Recession - but they are on the very edge no doubt and the reporting follows the actual so the next major reports out of the US will be doom and gloom. As for us Aussies as long a China & a few other economies keep charging ahead we will be OK sort of. Also Costello made the Adelaide Advertiser today as the next possible Lib Leader - some one must be reading the JC site for ideas They said Dr Nelson did not have what is needed.:rofl::rofl::rofl: - no joke He has been Labors only bright spot so far as he is absolutly no challange for them at all. Infact I think the libs put him their for 18 months so all the real leaders can form their own factions (support base) ready for the next election. PS if they go with Costello, the battlers of this country will not forget how tight he had the purse strings and will not vote for him. Thats why Howard never stepped down as the power players of the Libal party could see it clearly. Costello was a dead duck as leader. He probably could do a top job but his creds was as the money man and his manner and smile was a killer. (like he just got away with something he should not have type smile)
righto dude but seriously do you think rudd looks any better, he reminds me of a rich bitch that always had everything handed to him and has got no idea on how to run this country like who the hell puts in a carbons emssions tax (how the hell does he think this will reduce emissions) when we are no where near as bad as the rest of the world- rudd is a ********- through and through and id like to see costello take the reigns at least when the country was with the liberals it was going somewhere- not bloody backwards
Costello definitely has the treasury smarts, Id actually like to see him in the labor party as treasurer.
