I just ordered and received a Pedders XA coil over kit, White Line front control arms, White Line steering rack bushing and Pedders front sway bar bushings. Going along with the suspension, I have decided to do some Brembo 4 piston brakes front and rear. The basis for the brakes is the adapter brackets that are available to make this happen.

I am going to Install Cadillac CTS V front calipers, Chevy Camaro SS rear calipers, Chevy Camaro SS front 14" rotors, C6 Corvette Z06 13.4" rear rotors, Cadillac CTS V front and rear brake pads, Russell Performance brake hoses and speed bleeders, and the necessary brackets to make this all happen. I ordered most of the parts last night and will hopefully order the rest on Monday. Total cost for the big brake kit will come in under $2000 USD, all brand new parts and my labor. That is a deal in my book. I could have gone with 6 piston front calipers but the $400 extra wasn't worth it to me.

Stay tuned... it will be a little bit before this gets underway, but I will post pics of the progress.

I look forward to seeing it.
The ABS will need to be bled with a Tech2 or similar.

I am hoping I can leave the key in the ON position and get away with bleeding the system. This has worked for me before, especially on my GMC Yukon when one of the main brake lines from the ABS module to the rear axle gave up on me. We bled that thing 9 ways to Sunday and the best method was key on, gravity bleed, then the 2 person try. That brake pedal was/is still better than when we bought it back in 2009.

If all else fails, I guess I could buy a clone Tech 2 or just take it to the dealership. I have been contemplating buying one but keep buying parts instead...

I have a little car porn to share as I got some parts in on Friday. The rest of the parts should deliver tomorrow.

These are the rear calipers and the front and rear pads. The calipers are for a 2010 Camaro SS but are the same as the CTS V, just painted black with the Chevrolet Brembo insignias. They were also cheaper than the V calipers. These are getting painted red with white or silver GTO labels put on them in order to replicate what a factory GTO Brembo setup may have looked like.

These are the Raybestos front 14" rotors which is 355mm. I chose slotted over drilled and slotted because I didn't want to deal with potential cracking at the holes. These are coated so rust should never be an issue, especially being a garage queen.

Just waiting on the rear rotors, the front calipers, the custom mounting brackets and the Safebrake hoses. I need to get paint, GTO stickers and speed bleeders and I am ready to go.

On a side note, while I was at the garage looking at my parts, I replaced my header bolts with some polished stainless bolts. I used some Nordlock washers with the new bolts.

The rest of the parts arrived last week. Looks like I will be sanding down the calipers and painting them red this weekend. My GTO caliper decals should be here today so I can go ahead and paint, apply the decals, then clear coat the calipers and have them ready to go. Looking at my schedule, it might not be until the middle of October before I can install this stuff.

One of the front calipers...

I went with the same rotors but the fronts are a half inch bigger. The custom brackets are a thing of beauty. I forgot to get a pic of them so I will get one soon and post it. I'm ready to jump on this project.

Just a little update on this project... turns out Rock Auto shipped me the wrong front rotors. I went up to the shop to pick them because I was taking them to the machine shop. The hub bore has to be opened up 4mm since the Camaro hub is 67.4mm and the GTO is 71.4, or .5 or .6 depending who you ask. Something told me to check those part numbers one more time just to make sure they were right... I pulled up my order, double checked the part number online, then looked at my rotors... wrong part number, off by 1 digit. I almost had a pair of expensive paper weights on my hands.

Jumped online to Rock Auto and got this sorted out. Correct rotors will ship Monday and I should have them by Friday. Still going to be a bit before I get to the install. Hopefully gonna paint the calipers this weekend.

Started on one caliper tonight. Took some 220 grit sandpaper to it to scuff it good and then masked off everything I didn't want painted and removed the bleeders and crossover tube. I primed it with 3 coats and then painted in with like 5 or 6 coats. It is going to cure over night and then I will pop the GTO sticker on it and then clear coat it. A few pics for your entertainment...

And the rear calipers are done...

This one is completely done, clear coat cured, ready to go...

This one will cure over night and then I can pull the tape off of it. I have it hanging with a wire hanger on the garage door track in my garage. Two down, two more to go.

Can you please post part numbers of all the brakes parts?
Absolutely! Here is a screen shot of my order from rockauto.com. The only parts not included here are the Safebrake stainless brake hoses and the bracket kit required to bolt these brakes on. If you want that stuff, let me know and I will post it up for you.

The reason you don't see a vehicle listed for the calipers is because I used part numbers that were provided by the person selling the custom brackets. The front calipers are from a 2007 Cadillac CTSv and the rear calipers are from a 2010 Chevy Camaro SS. The front rotors are 2010 Camaro SS, the rear rotors are 2007 Chevy Corvette Z06, and the brake pads are front and rear 2006 Cadillac CTSv. The guy who made the brackets wanted easy to find and buy replacement parts and it doesn't get easier than this.
