Well, the Nexus 5 was finally released today:

Nexus 5 - Google

Available to Aussies for $399 and $449 for the 16GB and 32GB respectively from the Play Store:

https://play.google.com/store/devices/details/Nexus_5_32GB_Black?id=nexus_5_black_32gb&hl=en

So, there's my early xmas present sorted, should make a good upgrade from my Galaxy Nexus.

I'm trying to decide what I should upgrade to from my Galaxy Nexus.

Torn between the Nexus 5 and the Note 3.

Can't say i've even ever looked at a Nexus but have had a Note 3 for 2 weeks now and am loving it. As a business tool it is awesome and have no complaints what so ever. I agree the size won't be for some (many) but it fits fine into my jeans pocket and the screen size & functionality it brings more than makes up for the small inconvenience. It's super fast, takes a 64gb sd card (the small one) and so far battery life is awesome making/receiving 40-50 calls a day + email + text etc

Having used both Samsung and pure Android. I can say the biggest issue I had was TouchWiz, which annoys the hell out of me. If you're ok with the interface, and can afford it, the Note 3 is the better phone - but it's an entirely different price point.

The Nexus 5 is excellent bang for buck, and KitKat is shaping up to be very good.

Agreed the Nexus is by far the best bang for buck out there. That said, without expandable storage I'll never own one. S3/4 and Note can be easily fixed using a custom ROM of clean AOS CM10 Google. Makes it a different phone, a Nexus with storage.

Well, the 32GB is already sold out. Something Google really need to do is realise that people actually want this phone lol.

Any Nexus 5 owners been able to get it to play nicely on the VE Series II stereo?

Mine will play via bluetooth but not if you plug it in via USB.
